“An excellent homestay with a lovely host”

Rowina was such a lovely host. Very accommodating of me during a 3 week stay for a placement at the local hospital. When my partner surprised me by arriving 3 days earlier, Rowina was totally flexible with it and prepared us lovely breakfast. She also was so kind to arrange us transport to our next destination in Ella. Highly recommended.

Everything was excellent at Golden Villa: comfortable, homely space in a beautiful area. Roveena and her family made me feel so welcome and cared and went out of their way to help with tickets to the Kandy perahera. Roveena has great local knowledge of Kandy which is excellent when you need recommendations of things to do or any help. Also, the breakfast is so delicious and will fill you up for the day.

“Budget Homestay with friendly owner”

Spacious, well equipped, very comfortable, a peaceful location far enough away from the noisy city but close enough for easy TukTuk ride. Our very friendly host took us to a local dance display on our first evening which was a great welcome. A perfect 2 day visit.

“Wonderful quiet place to stay for a few days”

It is a very nice apartment with very comfortable beds with good pillows and a kitchen with large fridge. Calm and quiet neighborhood. A very good option if you want to stay for a few days in Kandy. With PickMe you can be in the city centre within 10 min. Roveena is a wonderful host who wants to help with everything, like transport or go to the Kandyan dancers, go to a nearby hotel with swimming pool (extra charge to use that pool). She also does tours to Dambulla, really nice. We had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this place. Would give an 11 if possible 😉

Roveena is the nicest woman we've met during our trip through Sri lanka. She was very helpful, always kind, showed us around, gave us tips for the city, drove us to an amazing view point, and to the city center. The apartment was very big, clean and comfortable. The location is just 300-400 lkr away from the city center in a very good and calm area. The breakfast was delicious, Roveena even made french fries just for my 2year old son. She definitely made our stay in Kandy better. Highly recommended!

“A brilliant stay in a quiet area, with everything you would need and the most friendly host.”

Mrs Roveena, the host, was very friendly. She met us to check-in, had a very nice welcome drink ready for us, showed us around and made sure we were settled. She also offered advice on things to see around the city and places to shop/eat. The apartment was very nice, very spacious with all the amenities you would need for any length of stay. It was also in a quiert area, meaning there was absolutely no noise at any point. The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning was perfect in the heat (limited to the bedroom but wasn't required anywhere else for us) and the bathroom was in very good condition. It was a cosy space that we would recommend to any travellers looking to stay in Kandy. Mrs Roveena also kindly offered to pick us up from the local train/bus station. As we arrived by car, it was no issue but she extended the same offer to us when we checked out, and dropped us at the train station to be able to catch the Odyssey train to Nuwara Eliya.

“Quiet apartment with great host”

Super friendly and helpful host. Rovenna picked us up from the train station, brought us to a lookout in kandy and brought us to the bus station when we left. Warm welcome. Tasty breakfast, Comfortable beds, spacious apartments, liked the washing machine for a small fee.

Large and comfortable bedroom, friendly and helpful host, very clean property, funny monkeys passing by outside can be observed in the morning 😊

“Most beautiful Accommodation in Sri Lanka so far”

The Accommodation has everything what you need. Not far from the City Center. Clean and a very big Apartment. Mrs. Roveena is very lovely. Picked me up from the train station and gave me a lift to the bus station on the next day. Besides she show me the view point and gave me some insights to the city. The breakfast was fantastic. Feels like home. Can highly recommend the accommodation!

“Peaceful apartment with superb host”

Property is a private self contained apartment (with kitchen) in a quiet neighbourhood in the hills near Kandy. The apartment was originally intended for the owners parents to visit (a Doctor) though it is now mostly rented out. Clean throughout (no bad odours), spacious and comfortable with a good breakfast. Owner is amazingly nice, considerate and went over and above to make us feel welcome; picked us up from town and took us to the sights the next day; checked that were OK getting back from dinner the next day. We were advised that Tuk Tuk price from central Kandy was about 350-500 LKR; and we were able to find something in that range evening on Christmas Eve. There is limited commerce/restaurants directly around the neighbourhood. Something to be aware of though it did not affect our satisfaction given the hosts abundant hospitality.

“Every thing was perfect!”

Roveena and Nalin were amazing hosts. They were very welcoming and helped us plan our stay in Kandy and offered lifts when we needed them. The place itself was lovely, it had a real homestay feeling about it but with privacy of our own living area including, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Which were all very clean and spacious. The place itself was just outside of Kandy centre which made it nice and quiet but still convenient to either walk or a get quick Tuktuk into the centre. We absolutely loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kandy. We will definitely stay again when we return to Kandy in the future. Thank you Roveena.

The apartment was large and spacious, fully equipped and very clean. Rowena was extremely helpful with all aspects of our stay, advising things to do in Kandy. Bed was very comfortable. Location is nice and quiet approx 2.5k. From the centre. Washing machine available at USD3 per day. Breakfast is available and is delicious, we had western. Would highly recommend.

“Perfec stay, super comfortable”

The property was so spacious, it had everything you needed and if you needed anything else Roveena was happy to help. She dropped us to the station and even posted something back to the UK that I left in the room. The bed was so comfy, water pressure was amazing and you get your own washing machine and hanger in the room. It’s great value for money and really feels like a home away from home. I cannot thank Roveena enough for making us feel so comfortable and welcome, she truly made the stay for us.

The owmer Roveena is a wonderful person. I have never seen such an owner in my life. She helped us a lot in every way. We felt very safe. She treated us like one of her family. Amazing home.
