“Amazing homestay just outside Kandy”

Wonderful homestay, conveniently located outside the city center so you can relax without exhaust fumes or honking cars. Amazing view, great home-cooked meals and the managing family are superb. They do everything to make you feel at home. They were very engaging (without being too much) and taught us a lot about Sri Lankan culture and cuisine. We would book again in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!

It's easy to be friendly when times are good. I was on Shiva's doorstep at very short notice during the horrific cyclone. Shiva not only opened his door for me and let me in, but he also treated me like a brother. Despite the difficult circumstances — no electricity, no signal, and finally no water — I always felt that I came first. Thank you, Shiva. I will always be grateful.

Definitely the best home stay out of 7 which I stayed at during my trip. Lovely, warm hearted and helpful host, beautiful view and spacious rooms. Everything super super clean. Highly recommended!

“Simpely lovely”

Wow, we felt so welcomed by the family. They helped us with every part of our stay. Their wonderful home is located in a beatiful and peaceful area just outside of Kandy. Very close to the train station to catch the train to Ella.

“Has positive points but these were really let down by some very negative points”

The views from the property are stunning and the huge balcony allows you to be able to absorb this perfectly. The home cooked food the family provided on our 1st night stay was delicious and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. There is also a really nice spacious communal area, which was ideal for us as we were travelling with friends and that divided our two rooms and gave us a place to all sit together to chat. However, be sure to pack toiletries such as shower gel as these were not provided.

Aisha and her husband were so kind and very welcoming. The house was beautiful, super clean and the room was spacious. The location was so peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy, with beautiful views and only a short ride from the center and train station if you are heading to Ella. I also had dinner with them and the food was so delicious and diverse. Definitely recommend!

The friendly welcome, tour around the garden, slept very well, very clean , very helpful with organising transport and day trips. Perfect balcony with exceptional views for breakfast and sundowners. Dinner good value. A perfect homestay and a good way of learning about their culture. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this accommodation! From the moment we arrived, the owners Ayesha and Shiva greeted us with warm hospitality. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, offering great recommendations and always making us feel welcome. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay, and both were absolutely amazing. The location of the homestay was perfect, nestled in the green, peaceful surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean and comfy with a great view. We can't recommend this place enough, and we will definitely be returning on our next trip to Sri Lanka!

Great house, lovely people and it was an amazing stay. The house is really clean, the rooms are spacious and view is amazing. The welcome was lovely, dinner and breakfast was made fresh. Just outside the busy city of Kandy, only a 5 minute ride away from peradeniya train station to hop on the train to Ella. Would recommend to everybody visiting Kandy.

“wonderful stay”

We had a wonderful stay at Ayesha's and her husband's house. We felt very welcome from the beginning on and enjoyed not only the great view from the balcony, the very clean room, but also the homemade delicious meals. We can only recommend this place!!!

“Ayesha and Shiva treated us like family - we felt completely at home and terribly spoilt!”

Ayesha prepared such a magnificent and large breakfast every morning, that we were able to take half of it for a packed lunch on our excursions. She made a huge effort to treat us to all the local dishes and added some Western food on the side. They really helped us to have a local experience by directing us how to use local buses and trains. Their house is large and spacious and we had a lot of privacy but also lots of valuable interaction. One of the highlights was the day when Shiva took us to Lion's Rock and afterwards took us for dinner to his family in a nearby village. All in all a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

The friendly and kind owner highly recommended to anyone to stay in a calm and quiet environment the rooms are clean and well maintained. The dinner was so delicious 😋

“Perfect. Nothing to complain about!”

The rooms are very comfy and really clean. Bath looks really nice! Ayesha and her familiy is awesome. Such nice people. Loved staying with them. Defintely recommended to go there. Breakfast was also very nice!

“Beautiful peaceful home. Wonderful, good humoured hosts”

Chathu is a little way out of the centre of the city but this also means it’s peaceful, but still easy to get everywhere by tuk tuk. The home was beautiful, spacious and spotless - with amazing views from the communal areas including a large balcony for eating beautifully cooked meals. The breakfasts and dinner were freshly prepared, so tasty, and enough to feed a large family. Ayesha made us a packed lunch with what we couldn’t finish! Our bedroom also had its own balcony surrounded by hills and greenery, so waking up surrounded by so much beauty was a pleasure. Ayesha and her family were so attentive to all our needs including how spicy we wanted our food, lending us a sarong for temple visits, and giving us much needed advice on how to get to our next stop. They even drove us into Kandy bus station when we left for Nuwara Elia. (The bus was good value, fast and cool - Thanks) I wish we’d had longer as there was lots to see and do in Kandy itself but we managed the Lake and botanical gardens, and a wander in the city itself. Wonderful 2 day stay - don’t think it can be beaten.

Ayesha and her husband were super friendly and prepared a really traditional breakfast which is not included but did not cost a lot! They were always in for a chat. The location is really silent and the view from the terrace was amazing.

Location maybe not a walking distance from main attractions / city center but the view, the host and breakfast are simply amazing! Highly recommended!
