We had a wonderdul time here. We came searching for remoteness, nature and fauna, adventure and a specific sense to be out of our comfort zone, where we thrive and find enjoyment. The property delivered on all the above. Like hinted, this place caters for a certain kind of audience, and at that it excels. You can drive up even with a Prius and moderate skill. It just takes some self overcoming. Otherwise let yourself be picked up by the staff or be driven. On of the best private luxury escapes in Sri Lanka with incredible warm and personal hospitality. My family was in tears when we left. The villa is true luxury with 3 spacious rooms a private pool and plenty relaxing spaces. Our regrets was the short stay but would recommend minimum of 3-4 days. The villa is surrounded with incredible scenery, wild life, gushing river, plantation of mango and tea trails etc. There are fish tail, badminton and hikes and biking and so much more. Just need time so plan to stay and unwind. Even the villa is part of a bigger nature retreat which has an amazing restaurant of Sri Lanka and western menus and our favourite was the spa! I can’t wait to return back to Aqua Dunhinda with my family.

This place is in a fantastic location, and the private villa with pool would probably get a 9 or 10 if we had been in different cirumstances. We arrived as Cyclone Ditwah was nearing its peak rains. We loved the place, the space, the views, the pool, the house monkeys. We LOVED being in a very safe place (The villa is built on a rock, not on sand) high above the roaring river (that caused so much devastation in the area).

We had an amazing experience! The villa was incredibly spacious and had a stunning, breathtaking view of the river and mountains! Everything was perfect. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff, especially Asanka and Sachinika for their kindness and for always being there to help us with anything! We are very grateful to our driver SK Tanakoon who took us everywhere during the four days with great care and professionalism. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience. I recommended this fantastic place to everyone. If I visit Sri Lanka again, I will definitely stay here again!

The villa and pool were fantastic. Very remote but relaxing. Asanka our host was fantastic. He helped us lots on our visit. His authentic Sri Lankan curries were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were both first class.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff — Asanka, Harry, and Chamodh — were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The food was delicious, and the view was absolutely beautiful. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The property was lovely. Huge well appointed villa, tastefully decorated with a private pool! The villa is located in a fantastic mountaintop, with break taking views all around, surrounded by nature. Wry clean and well maintained. The service was excellent, with a special thank you to Asanka and the team. Always ready to respond to requests and very friendly and polite. The food was outstanding, especially the Sri Lanka classics! All in all a very memorable stay at a lovely secluded luxury villa, surrounded by nature and looked after by a lovely team. “Stunning villa, superb staff, spectacular surroundings”

The 9 people villa is stunning, and the swimming pool is natural without any chlorine. The views are spectacular. The bedrooms are very spacious and the bathrooms have the best showers with different water diffusers. Each room has its own en suite bathroom. Asanka, Harry and the rest of the staff were superb; they cooked the most delicious meal we've had in Sri Lanka, they washed our clothes within a few hours, they guided us around the property gardens and down to the river and river natural pool, they made sure we didn't go in the river where it is dangerous to swim and pointed out the safe places. They also answered any questions we had and helped us with our train from Kandy/Gampola to Ella. They also arranged for someone to come give us massages which we loved. We wanted to go out to explore the area but there was more than enough things to do in the property so we barely left the premises! I would totally recommend this accommodation!

“A perfect stay”

The villa is so beautiful that you don't want to leave it! The location is perfect too, you have a stunning view from the terrace and from the whole building through big windows. The pool is crystal clear, the house itself is also very clean and tidy. One of the best things was staff - we could reach out to Asanka anytime and his responses were always in under a minute. He and the whole team were very welcoming and helpful - whatever we needed, they were ready to help. We also ordered food from the hotel - not everything was to our liking but it's great that you have an option of ordering something in your dining room, and they do the full service: bring food and clean after. Nonetheless we recommend creamy pasta and devilled pork. But the best food was breakfast: delicious fresh juices, fruit, omelette, sausages and grilled bread - it was always a great start of a day. Rooms are spacious, bathroom is very comfortable - there is always hot water and the pressure is good. There is water supply so you don't have to worry about buying plastic bottles. All in all, i really recommend this place, we didn't manage to hike down the river because of the weather, but there is much to do here:)

Incredible, incredible, incredible! Words cannot describe how much a gem this place is! In the middle of the most stunning nature and surroundings, it uses the features around it to add luxury to the stay. We loved all the different trails you can go on as well as other offerings available from yoga, massages, the swimming pool with a gorgeous view and bike rides, so your visit can be as active or as relaxed as you like! The owner took us on a magical trek to the river and a hidden waterfall, it was a highlight of our trip. We got to hear his plans for the resort including new trains of varying difficulty and other sustainable activities - we can’t wait to visit again in the future to try these! My children had the best time just being in nature and spotting all the wildlife from the monkeys, fruit bats, chipmunks, porcupines, it kept them entertained and they loved it! Booking a massage is a must, we had an incredible guy who gave the best massage I have ever had and as a female I never once felt awkward he was very respectful and dignified, Finally, Asanka - he was a dream come true for our stay. He made it truly special and he is a real asset to the resort. His cooking is incredible and every dish he made was delicious. He was always on hand for anything we needed, always cleaning the leaves from the pool, giving advice on places to visit, and making sure we had the very best of the hospitality of Aqua Duhinda and Sri Lanka!

Amazing wellness property to hike, bike and enjoy luxury in nature. Grad villa and architectural marvel. We loved the horticulture therapy including plucking tea, mango picking. The staff was just amazing provided an unforgettable short stay. Definitely mark to come back!

An exceptional location. Both views and serenity 😌 One of the best places we have stayed in a long time.
