This small hotel comprises nine villas set in beautifully kept grounds in the hills outside Kandy. Our villa had views of the sunrise over the mountains, and we were surrounded by forest with many birds, butterflies and animals including deer and monkeys (and one tiny lizard). We ate in the restaurant almost every night and enjoyed fresh produce from the gardens. There is a mix of Western and Sri Lankan food, the traditional curry a particular favourite, all excellent. Any special culinary requests at any time were catered for. The villa was peaceful, except for the expected forest sounds, with a small private pool and an outdoor jacuzzi. In the morning the patio was sunny, and in the evening we relaxed in the shade and looked out over the forest. There is a larger, shared pool for swimming, with magnificent views. Particular thanks to all the helpful staff, especially Dulan and Geetha the managers, Lakshman the butler and Dilshan our driver who did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. The service provided was the very best. We enjoyed several excursions: of particular note the Buddhist Temple of the Tooth and the wild elephant safari. After a week there were still many things that we had not seen. The whole experience was definitely worth the price paid. It is a friendly hotel and we would gladly return.

Secluded place with fabulous views. The main pool really nice but you have you own plunge pool too. Our room was large & the view over to the Knuckles Mountains was stunning. Comfy bed & large bathroom. Very tranquil place. Watch out for the monkeys by your pool!

Stunning boutique property - especially the villas - they are super comfortable with amazing views - they leave snacks and fruit in the room which is a nice touch and we loved the complementary afternoon teas! Our villa host Nilantha was so friendly and ensured all our needs were met And the food was fabulous!

Amazing location nestled secretly in the central highlands. Staff were very accomodating and helpful Very nice bungalow with an infinity pool and well appointed bathroom Staff were very good at organising tours to a tea factory, Lion Rock and Kandy. The driver was great and extraordinary helpful.

We spent two nights at Aarunya Nature Resort as part of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. We were completely blown away by the view upon arrival, it’s such a beautiful surrounding and the grounds are perfectly maintained. We we were warmly welcomed by Namal, our personal butler during our stay. I wish I had the words to describe just how much we appreciated Namal, he went far beyond our expectations. Kind, caring, hilarious and just an absolute joy to be around - we loved the energy he brought to our stay. My wife and I have a small fear of insects/ reptiles, and Namal was calm and reassuring us not to worry. We stayed in ‘Pepper’ which was a lovely Sky Villa with pool and hot tub and was really spacious but cosy and had all the facilities we needed. It was an enclosed bathroom which worked better for us. The food was incredible and the highlight was the New Year celebration. We celebrated with a lovely tasting menu and live entertainment with cultural dances. We’ll never forget staying at Aarunya Nature Resort, thanks for playing such a key part of our honeymoon.

We began our honeymoon in Sri Lanka at this stunning retreat, and it was the perfect, magical two-day stay. We stayed in the Sky Pavilion Villa, which includes a heated jacuzzi and a plunge pool overlooking the Knuckles Mountain Range. It is absolutely breathtaking here, although we only managed to enjoy the view on the second day as it was really misty and foggy on our first. The food here is consistently amazing, and the 9-course Sri Lankan curry is an absolute must-try! Our butler, Gihan, is wonderful and incredibly attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The entire team, from the GM, front of house, to the restaurant, and ground staff, were all lovely and kind, making us feel right at home. The property is well-maintained, clean and has a large main pool with breathtaking views. You can take scenic walks around the property, which is a wonderful experience on it its own. It is an ideal retreat for couples seeking a romantic getaway :)
