“Disrespectful and Unprofessional Behavior”

I had booked a room and arrived slightly before the official check-in time. Later, I returned to bring my backpack from the reception to my room. My local girlfriend accompanied me. What happened next was something I have never experienced before. The owner spoke to my girlfriend in Sinhala and made inappropriate and completely unfounded comments about our relationship. Among other things, he claimed she was “too young” for me (we are both 30 years old) and even implied that I was paying her. This behavior was extremely disrespectful, humiliating, and absolutely unprofessional. We were only in the room for about 10 minutes, yet we were confronted with such degrading accusations. Personal assumptions and offensive remarks toward guests are unacceptable. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this accommodation to anyone.

“An all round good place to stay in Kandy”

Excellent location and value.with a very caring host. It was an easy walk to the Sacred temple of the tooth and the lake, and relatively close to the market and bus and train stations.

Great location, great value for money. Stayed here twice, once before a trek in the knuckles mountain and again after. Really pleased to have this hotel to come back to as we new it was pretty decent. Really helpful staff. No issues at all.

Amazing location and price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was basic but everything you'd need if you're not planning to spend too much time in the hotel. Shower was hot and pretty decent, bed was comfortable, building was quiet. And there is a bakery downstairs so very handy for getting snacks or breakfast. Would definitely stay here again if I came back to Kandy.

“it’s ok! and in the center!”

the room had old smell, which I tried to get rid of by opening balcony, but i was hard to get the fresh air inside. On the ither hand, towels and blankets weee clean and smelled good. It’s not a luxury apartment but again the price is so little so it’s worth it! Stuff aleays smilling and friendly, also location is central!

Right from the start, I was pleasantly surprised when the owner offered me a discount as a solo traveler, such a thoughtful and generous gesture. During my two-night stay, I truly enjoyed the spacious room, the comfortable bed, and the bathroom with good water pressure and a working heater. The air conditioning was a big help to cool down the room and the complimentary breakfast (toast with butter and jam, banana, egg hoppers and coffee/tea) was simple yet filling. For the value, I honestly couldn’t ask for more. I was also introduced to a nearby laundromat recommended by the hostel, but since I couldn’t locate it, I ended up using one near the Temple of the Tooth. Unfortunately, that one charged almost three times more for less than 1kg of laundry compared to the recommended place. So for future guests, definitely go with the one the hostel suggests instead of picking randomly! The manager, Jagath and his team were exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. The location is great too, just about 700m from the Temple of the Tooth Relic, and within easy walking distance to Kandy Lake, the city center and the central market (all around 1–1.5km). There are also plenty of nice cafés and restaurants along the road leading to the city center.

I really liked this hotel. Huge room. Very nice manager who takes really good care of any needs the guests have. water kettle in the lobby for ur own coffee or tea. A fridge in the lobby. About 700 meters from the lake but all the buses that pass in front go that way so for 30 ruppees u can easily get there. A nice cheap local restaurant across the street and a bakery downstairs. Good value. Room 106 faces the back and is very quiet.

The host is so lovely! He was very attentive and really loves what he does! The location is great as well, it is only a 10 minute walk to the river and most of the attractions.

“Perfect Stay – Incredible Value and Service!”

What an absolute gem! The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the city, making it so easy to explore everything on foot. The staff were truly amazing: warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their kindness made us feel comfortable from the very first moment. Our room was spacious and very comfortable — far more than we expected for the price. In fact, for the location and quality, this is hands down the best value you’ll find. We slept great each night and felt completely at home. It’s rare to find a place that combines such a prime location, genuinely kind staff, and comfortable rooms at such a reasonable rate. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
