By far the best accommodation of our trip. A really beautiful place to call home in Kanazawa. The little details made all the difference. We loved the assortment of traditional plates and bowls. Great walking distance to the Castle and Kenrokuen Garden with the local loop bus close by too. Michio is a very friendly host too!

Very easy to access structure, the owner gave as all the information to reach and enter the home. The house is gorgeous, it has all the amenities and in a good position.

“Lovely Japanese House!”

The house was beautiful, modern but traditional and loved staying there. A very cute little bakery next door too!

This is a real Japanese house with futon beds, with all the luxury and space you need. Parking spot close to the house.

The house is very conveniently located. All major sight seeing points are within walking distance. The house itself is very nicely decorated, clean, spacious, with a beautiful balcony and a well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend.

Was a beautiful Japanese house. Been the accommodation highlight of the trip. Pick-up service was very highly appreciated with the owner giving useful tips. Garden pond is very nice. Would love to come back.

“Exceptional”

Zaimoku-an is exceptional! Perfect location to visit the must see sites of Kanazawa. Kenroku-en is virtually on your back doorstep. Bus stop nearby to get to and from the station. JR bus so you can use your suica card. Zaimoku-an is situated in a quite neighbourhood but close enough to walk to Oriental brewery for good beer and pizza or Kappa udon donsuki for delicious handmade udon. The house is beautiful with everything you need. A lovely deck to sit and relax outside and laundry facilities which we were grateful for. Comfy futons and pillows! Staff very friendly and accommodating.

“Idyllic and Centrally Located”

Gorgeous guest house with everything you could need for your stay. Nicely positioned close to key tourist spots, while still tucked away enough to feel like authentic. Michio was a great host, picking us up from the station, pointing out key places along the way and making sure we settled into the house nicely. Our only complaint was a faint smell from the toilet, but it really didn’t detract much from the overwhelmingly positive experience!

Location, quiet, great facilities. Easy to walk to all the sights.. easy 30 minute walk along river to train station. Many restaurants nearby. Great little corner store within 50m. Bakery next door! Coffee beans and grinder provided. Thank you Michio for pick up from station on arrival.
