“A beautiful home, with ample room for a family in a great location.”

The size of this property was perfect - especially for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenagers). The bathroom was great and has a little viewing window into the beautiful Japanese garden outside - perfect after a long day of walking. The two toilets were a bonus, the only accommodation we stayed at in Japan that had this. It was within walking distance of the samurai area and also the Curry Laboratory, which was by far our favourite curry of our whole trip (and we ate a lot of curry!) The rooms are all beautifully fitted out with artwork and the main bedroom is truly remarkable and also opens up to look out to the garden below. Definitely worth a stay if you are in Kanazawa!

Lovely house. Really interesting features such as the dining/coffee table on the floor with the hole beneath for your legs. Difficult to describe but surprisingly comfy. Great location around the corner from famous markets and convenience stores. Loved the little garden at the back.

“Excellent base in Kanazawa in renovated house”

This is an excellent property, well worth staying here. Incredibly clean, lots of space for a family or group of friends and excellent location close to city centre, market, shops. We also walked from the house to both the castle / gardens / samurai district areas and the geisha / gold leaf district. And not too far from the central Kanazawa train station (20-25 mins flat walk). There is a mud room, kitchen, sunken dining table area, bathroom and laundry downstairs with a lovely garden. Upstairs, you'll find two large bedrooms and separate toilet. We found an unassuming but excellent small restaurant diagonally opposite the house - some of the best food we had on our trip - reasonably priced set menu with lots of local seafood, tempura.

Very fine house in a traditional style. A pleasant and authentic experience! Excellent traditional little garden and view on the garden from the house, and in particular from the bathroom! Great bath! Very comfortable futon beds. Convenient and practical kitchen. Great welcoming host!

Modern twist on traditional Japanese living

Beautiful large home. Had everything we could ask for and more. The staff were very welcoming and gave us a tour around before letting us to enjoy. Easy to get into and out of. Perfect location close to Omichi markets. Lovely safe neighbourhood. Just like the photos on the web. Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Kanazawa. This is perfect.

We liked the cleanliness of the place. We liked the tatami floor mats and kotatsu table the most. The street and house made us feel like living in history with modern amenities.

Location is perfect for all of the key locations in Kanazawa and is also within walking distance of the train station.. House is beautifully restored and the garden is serene.

It was super clean and staff were very accommodating - even picked us up from the station and allowed us to leave our bags there before check in. Such good location and a lovely traditional house! Cannot recommend enough!

Beautiful interior with all the amenities we required. Lovely garden to look out onto from the living room. We really enjoyed the futons provided in the upstairs bedroom. Shower and bath were both great and the washing machine was a nice bonus.

We were picked up at the train station by the property manager and driven to the house - excellent service! He gave us a quick tour of the house and explained key information. It is a beautiful traditional Japanese house that had everything we needed. We were initially a little hesitant about sleeping on Futon beds but they were surprisingly comfortable and felt like a normal mattress!

We loved staying in a more authentic japanese home. Great court yard garden. Keyless entery so no need to carry keys, Extremely close to a great market, 15 minute walk to Kanazawa station, around 15 to 20 minute walk to the castle. Loads of heating options.
