We loved the location more than anything - being a 2 minute walk from the Geisha district was perfect since we didn't have a car.

Clean, comfy and the proprietors (met the couple and their son) were accommodating to the couple of selfish requests I made during my stay. Located in a great area, although you'd have to walk a bit to and from the the bus stand if you don't want to leg it to (or from) other parts of the city or can't because of baggage. It's not a long walk though and it's very scenic so as long as weather permits, it's a pretty nice stroll. But if you've got a lot of baggage, I'd recommend driving. Though it should be noted that the streets in this old part of town are scarily narrow to drive on, and has a ton of pedestrians (though nowhere as crowded as Asakusa or Kyoto, don't worry). ^^; Also, if you have trouble finding the place, I'd recommend asking one of the rickshaw pullers. Would also recommend the half-an-hour course with them (preferably the one who assisted you) after checking in because it's really worth it. It's priced at jpy8000 when I was there. The shortest course is 15-mins at jpy4000 if you're short on time but if you aren't, I'd say go for the 30-min one.The guy who helped us out and then took us around is called Kinoshita-san but I think they're all nice.

“Lovely!”
The owners were so welcoming and the room was lovely. It was spotlessly clean and the beds especially were really comfy. It's location is absolutely perfect for the Higashi Chaya district of Kanazawa and it was very affordable.

“Definitely a place you should stay at !”
It is ideally located in the beautiful geisha district, which is abound with traditional one and two-storey wooden houses, and not very far from the Omicho market and the Kanazawa castle, which makes it very convenient when you plan to walk only. The landlady is absolutely lovely and was kind enough to make do with my basic Japanese speaking skills. A charming old-fashioned little house. I was in a traditional tatami room (和室), called 梅 (plum tree), with a TV and air-conditioning. The windows are set with shoji (traditional paper screens), which gives the place a lovely atmosphere. I slept on a futon and kagefuton set, which was very comfortable, as the mat was quite thick and covered in a bed pad. A toothbrush set, a yukata (which serves as a traditional night wear), a towel, a tea cup, a matcha tea bag (there is an electric kettle in the room) and a bucket for your towel are also provided, and there are soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower room. Please note that the inn is closed at night (from midnight to six thirty, if I understood it correctly). Showers - one individual shower room for ladies, another one for men (I guess) are on the ground floor, and so is a communal dining room, where I think you can store whatever needs to be kept cold in the fridge. My room was upstairs, where many rooms were named after various Japanese flowers. There were also toilets for men and toilets for women, as well as a large area with wash basins, so that it’s easy to brush your teeth, set your hair (there is a hairdryer) or wash your face. They don’t provide food, but you can grab something nearby for breakfast and for dinner, I crossed the Asanogawa bridge for an early dinner at Sakai, which I strongly recommend.

The guests were super friendly and helpful. They let us bring our bags before the check-in time and helped us make a phone call in Japanese. The location was excellent and the room very authentic.

“Spacious rooms and comfortable futons, would book again!”
The room was really spacious and there was a yukata provided. We didn’t have a private bathroom but a private sink, which was nice. Everything was very clean and both the elderly couple and the other man were very friendly. We could reach many sights per foot, which was great.
