Great location, right next to the garden. We can see cherry blossoms from the window. Short walk to Kanazawa Castle and the historic street. House hotel was clean and comfortable. One of the best stay of our Japan trip.

“Wonderful house in the perfect location”

We stayed for three nights at this property in March 2025. The location is outstanding, as it is directly across the road from Kenroku-en Gardens, one of the top three gardens in Japan. The property is also close to Kanazawa Castle, the Kanazawa Modern Art Museum, the D.T. Suzuki Museum, the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts, and the National Crafts Museum. We needed a property with parking and this was perfect as you parked undercover at the front of the house - so easy access to the car. Although the property is situated on a main road, the rooms are located at the back of the house, so we did not find the noise to be an issue. The top floor features an outdoor rooftop deck, which we didn't use due to the cold weather during our stay, but the view is amazing. There is a lovely Japanese shower room that includes a bath in the basement. Additionally, there is a separate toilet, a washing machine/dryer combo, and a double vanity. There is a second toilet on the 2nd floor where the kitchen and another bedroom are located. The kitchen is small and not very well equipped, but it is sufficient if you only plan to eat breakfast there. The property sleeps six people, but there are only two bedrooms, so I presume two people would need to sleep on the sofas in the lounge room. This is one of the few properties we stayed at with an actual lounge, so it was very comfortable.

We had an amazing stay at House Hotel Kenrokuzaka! The apartment is even bigger than it looks on the pictures. The amenities are just perfect - huge living room area, tatami floor area, really comfy and modern bathtub. It's also situated right next to Kenroku-en, which is big plus. Not to mention that the father of the owner was super nice and gave us a great tour of the house and amenities, something we didn't get anywhere else in Japan.

Fantastic house with all comfort needed - very clean and with a nice roof terrace. Ideally located and with a parking spot in front of the house. All ideal to visit wonderful Kanazawa!

It is a nice house on great location, Kenrokuen garden is just across the street and all the main attractions are withing 15-20 min walking distance. It was very clean. The host was really helpful.

Great host! He gave a house tour explaining all the facilities, especially the superb bathtub with ambient lighting and a small jacuzzi. Very modern and convenient appliances such as a washer/dryer. Heater and air conditioning in each room and hallway make the house cozy especially during winter.

The host was so lovely and was at the property to welcome us on arrival. It is across the road from the beautiful Kenroku-en gardens and has car spaces, which was great as we have a car. The bath tub was delightful! I’m so glad we stayed there.
