“Colonial Charms”

The hotel has its own unique rustic charm of a bygone era. The huge rooms, colonial architecture, tall ceilings and wooden shutters all contribute to taking you back in time. The lobby is very popular with locals for photo shoots and the pool area is wonderfully relaxing in the afternoon. The bathrooms seem to have had a recent renovation and the toiletries and linen are of a good quality. The mattresses are also soft and big! There is aircon and a ceiling fan so the rooms cool down quickly with good air flow. New fridges in the rooms so your drinks stay cold. The laundry service was also top notch. My clothes came out cleaner than nearly all the places I've stayed in Cambodia. I'm not sure what someone's comments are about dodgy electrics. It's an old building and some switches are painted over, so what? Ask for a room facing onto the pool as the rooms facing the street are quite noisy with traffic The location is just outside the riverfront but close enough you can walk there in 5 minutes down a shady street. Much better than staying on the strip with all the late night bars. There is also a bus station really close by. The two family dogs are the cutest!! You will fall in love with them and the family who run the hotel speak good English and are great. Overall, you are paying a really good price for this hotel and a unique experience. It's up there with some of the nicest hotels in Cambodia that I've stayed in. Don't expect it to be perfect - remember where you are. If you want perfect go to Singapore and stay in 6 star.

Location was excellent : just 3mins walk to all the fabulous shops and cafes. Supermarket was across the road. Staff were super helpful booking everything for our ongoing trip to Koh Rong and beyond!

Nicely presented with old artefacts. The pool was lovely and cool - and we always had it to ourselves. Open and airy spaces. Short walk to many restaurants and the riverfront. Staff were polite and efficient and Mr Day was very helpful in arranging tours for us.

This hotel is in a central location close to restaurants. It's entrance hall/ reception area is airy and comfortable and they serve excellent coffee. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and we used their laundry service which was efficient. The pool is small but clean and a perfect place to refresh after a day touring the area.

Peaceful lovely old style hotel. The rooms are huge and a little dark unless you open the balcony door but as we didn’t spend much time there during the day it was not a problem. Nice pool and lovely decor in the lounge/restaurant. Very convenient location to walk everywhere with a mini mart over the road. Staff were all lovely and helpful. This was a really nice place to spend a few days relaxing

We had two very nice days and nights at The J Break Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast menu was extensive, with good tea and coffee. We are happy to recommend the hotel.
