“A great experience”

An amazing little place to stay run by absolutely wonderfull people, the interior has a lovely atmosphere and it is easilly reachable from JR Kamikawa station.

We rented a Japanese room with tatami mats. It has a fully equipped shared kitchen, a living room, and a shared bathroom and toilet. It may not be the highest hotel standard, but it's more than made up for by the wonderful atmosphere of a mountain hut and the owners' dedication to providing the best possible experience. It truly feels like you're staying with family or friends!

The decorations are wonderful, feels like a real home for travellers. Nice vibes. The rooms are a good size with a lock. The staff were freindly, though we didn't see them much. We even had a record player in our room which was a great suprise.

Felt like home right away. Very spacious room with AC. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we could wish for. Communication with the host was awesome!

“The Best”

The most wonderful hosts you can find, absolute legends. All lovers of the local nature, travelers from abroad that settled down in Japan to help out fellow travelers, especially snowboarders/skiers in the winter. We went in summer and hiked in Daisetsuzan, that was just as great an experience, made all the better by our stay at Yukiumi. Would not have wanted to miss this house in favour of something closer to Daisetsuzan. The house offers extra services depending on summer/winter, including food, drinks, guided tours of Daisetsuzan, drop off by car, etc. The rooms are quite spacious for two people, but you can just as easily fit more if you have your own bedding. While we were there a group of three slept nextdoor. The whole house is very pretty and full of character, with souvenirs strewn about. We even got some free corn from our host, who gets it as gift every harvest season from a farmer friend. Shows they have good relations with the neighbourhood. Not to mention we payed a very minimal price for it all. Oh, and there's a guestbook for you to write in and read some heartwarming testimonies from other guests. The hosts speak both English and Japanese without difficulty.

Little traditional japanese house where you can sleep on futons. The host Roxy was very warm and friendly. It felt very authentic and we had a lovely time there. Totally recommend!

Quiet location. About 15min walk from the JR station if you don't have a vehicle. The scent of tatami mats, the sound of cicadas, the cool breeze of the night.
