“A great resort stay!”

Choyo Resort Hotel was a great place to base ourselves while exploring Daisetsuzan National Park, Kurodake mountain and even Asahikawa and their famous zoo. The hotel itself was HUGE - catering to lots of tour groups etc - but despite the large numbers, the hotel was able to operate efficiently especially during check-in/ check-out and also when collecting meal tickets. The hotel itself was spacious, rooms were cozy/ comfortable and the onsen was well designed and very comfortable - so much so we were there every day! They have a hotel shop on-site and there's also a 7-11 located directly opposite if you needed more snacky snacks during your stay. They also have various activities like Bingo night each evening for an additional fee. Ample parking available if you are driving. We had breakfast and dinner there for 3 nights and were given complimentary fondue and beautiful scallop sashimi on the 2nd and 3rd nights as we'd stayed there that long! Buffet offerings were great - a wide range of different foods and lots to try so you'd never get bored of what they had. You have to collect meal tickets for different meal times each day - but it was a good way to manage the crowds and we certainly didn't feel too crowded each time. This was our first time staying at a 'BIG' resort and I have to say it was great! :)

Breakfast was great, good value for money and location was the best, 7/11 directly across the road and facilities in the hotel to heart and eat in a quiet area. Most of staff spoke broken English and we were able to communicate well, no Google translate needed. Most staff wanted to help even though you are a foreigner.

The outdoor Onsen is wonderful, in the clam and nice wood.

The onsen facility is not brand new but comfortable and cozy. Dinner and breakfast were great with lots of choices.

The onsen was really great!

The room is just nice for 3 of us. Basically all is ok for 2 nights. It would be good if the Hotel have 1-2 dishes difference each day as it would be boring eating the same food everyday.

Due to travel issues we were unable to check in on our booked date. The hotel shifted our dates without us asking and at no extra cost so that we wouldn’t miss out on the night we’d booked. This was very thoughtful and although we couldn’t take advantage of this it was excellent customer service.
