The private onsen is a wow and must book if you’re in a group. The breakfast and dinner were amazing. The accommodated my young child by serving dinner in our room. Traditional breakfast was incredible. We last minute needed a room for my mother and they accommodated that with a discount rate which was beyond expectation. Such lovely staff we would love to come again.

“Lovely stay”

Nice spacious clean room, with a beautiful private onsen. The staff were so nice and helpful and spoke English well or used the translation devices. The food was incredible, some of the best meals I had in Japan, and they accomodated it our no pork no alcohol request. They offer a free shuttle to and from the hotel (30min from Kameoka station). Just keep in mind there isn't much around the hote within walking distance.

Exceptional experience. Room was really big, facilities were good and clean. Bath in open air was really calming. The view is on the mountain right next to the room. Not much to see, but overall nice. Food was delicious, my 1st time ever trying something like that. The sets are really big, we couldn't properly finish either dinner, or breakfast.

The place is beautiful, quite remote but there is a free shuttle from the train station. The staff are very nice and hospitable. The included breakfast is quite filling! Would absolutely go back, for a longer stay (only did one night this visit). The private onsen in the room was just perfect.

We stayed in a ryokan near Kyoto, and the experience was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond — they even offered to pick us up from Kamioka Station, which we didn’t expect at all. It was such a pleasant surprise. The service throughout our stay was incredible: extremely polite, warm, and genuinely kind. Honestly, the staff deserves 15 out of 10. Our room had a private onsen, and it was amazing. The room itself was in a traditional Japanese style and felt very cozy. The outdoor onsen was especially beautiful — such a unique and relaxing experience. Breakfast was both interesting and delicious. I highly recommend this ryokan to anyone looking for a special stay near Kyoto.

“Tattoo friendly onsen”

Outstanding experience. Best place we stayed in during almost a month of travel. Comfortable beds, nice and spacious room, everything amazing. We took room with a private bath and foot bath because we didn't know what the stance about tattoos was in this onsen, and I am pretty heavily tattooed. Apparently, it's not a problem! We still stayed in a private bath, but it was nice to know that there is an option.

PRO: We spent 2 days in this lovely Rimyokan. Common area and room were very charming and peacefully decorated. We used common bath during the afternoon and night and was very relaxing. The receptionist was very attentive and kind to help us and giving us all explanation required. It was not so easy to talk with people working in the dining area due to English barrier but they always was very gentle.

The staff was very attentive and friendly to our family with two young kids. The onsen (both the private and the public ones) were clean and very pleasant. The overall atmosphere in the ryokan was relaxing. The shuttle service was quite convenient. The breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable.

What a beautiful place ! Nestled into the hillside it made full use of the natural forest to enhance the privacy and tranquility of this ryokan. The staff were all excellent and often went to the trouble of helping us by deciphering menus with the help of a translator app. The food was abundant, fresh and beautifully prepared and presented, everything was a work of art. The rooms were decorated beautifully and had lots of little additions. The onsen was lovely & private.
