Reaching this lodge is an adventure in itself, 28 km through a vast private reserve, no mobile signal, and five gates to open along the way, with wildlife such as baboons, jackals, oryx, and springboks as your only company. It’s remote and thrilling, and once you arrive, the warm Namibian hospitality and stunning setting make it all worthwhile. The game drive is superb, sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking, and dinner by the fire under a sky full of stars is simply unforgettable.

“Amazing and secluded place - book at least 2 nights!”

Amazing and secluded place. Very small scale with only 5 rooms available, feels almost more like visiting someone than a hotel or resort. Food is really good with breakfast/brunch, afternoon tea (cake) and a dinner. Reserve has many animals to see and good activities (especially rhino tracking) but you feel that they are not as accustomed to people so they are more wary of people compared to Etosha for example. Super attentive and friendly staff. Dinner, pool and campfire area has really nice view, overlooking a waterhole. Campfire is lit every night before dinner and is also very nice after dinner for digestive. Paths are also lit with real lanterns at night and beds are warmed up with warm water bottles which is a super nice touch. For our 3 night stay rhino tracking was included in the price, which I found out only after booking, so if you are considering between two or three day stay it makes third night kind of a bargain. And yes we saw two black rhinos. Would not recommend booking for one night as place if a bit far from everywhere (40 min drive from main road) so two nights is a minimum, three even better.

We did not stay at the lodge but the tented camp. All people working there are outstanding. Perfect quality of the food. Warm and friendly service - you directly feel like home Wonderful tends (5 only) with decoration and a lappa from which you could overlook a part of the reserve taking your sundowner drink. After 3 weeks holiday in Namibia I must say: „Ohorongo is absolutely fantastic! Luxury in remoteness, Excellent service and stuff, small lodge in a middle of huge wilderness. Stylish and cozy rooms, pool, wifi, animals around. Perfection!

“AMAZING!”

Ohorongo reserve was by far our best experience in 15 days in Namibia. We felt at home from the first moment and the staff, in particular Daniel, in charge of the lodge and guide, and Vejama, our waitress, did everything to exceed our expectations and meet all our desires. We had booked for 1 night but ended up staying 2 nights because we loved it. We were the only guests but all the services and facilities of the Lodge were available to us, as the swimming pool, a fire at night and a very talented chef, Elizabeth, cooking for us. Our bungalow was very spacious and beatifully decorated with rich materials and furniture. We had the best meals, that included breakfast, lunch and dinner and the most special moment: freshly baked cake everyday at 4 pm. We went for a sunset game drive with Daniel, that knows everything about the reserve and is the most kind person, where we saw many animals - including giraffes (there are a lot in the reserve, near the swimming pool and our bungalow), monkeys, oryx, springbock, different antylopes, etc - and ended with a drink watching the most incredible sunset! The lodge is only 1h50 to the gate of Etosha National Park (the indications to the lodge in Google maps are not correct, but que followed the indications given by the lodge and it was very easy to get there). We trully recommend Ohorongo to anyone visiting Namibia!

Great experience at Ohorongo Safari lodge, the staff Daniel and team didn't leave a stone unturned to make it the guests a warm welcome and excellent service during the stay, the rooms i rate "very good" as i think in summer time they may require aircon as it can get very hot, however i also understand the lodge is fully of grid on solar that aircons are a big impact on the solar system. absolutely a + to visit and experience the true beauty of Namibia. the road towards the lodge is already an adventure on it's own we say so much game just amazing.

Everything. Beatifull decorated and modern rooms. Very good food. We were spoiled from the first till the last minute. Exceptionnal in all ways!!!

Fantastic people taking care of the details. Great kitchen baking and cooking most delicious meals. Located in remote nature within a great game reserve, a lot to learn about nature.

“Unforgettable experience”

During our stay we were the only guests. We were welcomed by Daniel and Werner who took care of us the whole time together with their team. It is a type of personal service you get nowhere else: kind, knowledgeable and non-intrusive, the place becomes your home. The day starts with breakfast outside next to the pool, with the fire already on in front of the waterhole, awakening with the animals. Then you drive out on the reserve in the hands of Daniel, making it each time a discovery. Back home, you enjoy the bar for when to decide to go to the dinner table, again in a superb private setting, great three course meal. The evening ends, sitting around the open fire again in front of the waterhole, watching the animals, telling stories. Your rooms have then been set up with warm water bottles in the beds. The whole setting breaths traditional comfort, full of interesting details and artifacts. For us the experience was second to none. Thank you so much for this unforgettable stay!!

“A TOTAL DESASTER.”

There was nothing to like.... We were unable to reach the lodge because it was 20 km off the main road , a dirt- and- stone -path, only fit for a Heavy Duty 4x4 SUV. Nobody informed us about this at the time of booking. Had we known this, we would NOT have booked this lodge. A TOTAL DESASTER.
