“Beautifully restored old, spacious and luxurious beach house.”

This house is just stunningly beautiful. More than 100 years old, and perfectly restored. Wooden beams, the scent of tatami and cedar wood, sliding doors. and lots of space. It has all the facilities one could possibly wish for: kitchen, several bathrooms, laundry, hot tub, sauna. It's sheer luxury. The beach is just 2 minutes from your doorstep, and a bus can take you back to the centre of Kamakura (or you can go for a 20 minute walk). Around the corner is a pleasant breakfast/lunch cafe. The friendly owner, Tadao, was very accommodating; he was waiting for us when we arrived a bit earlier than check-in time, and gave us a guiding tour around the house.

“Perfection if you're looking for a beachy holiday”

The house is at a perfect location in Kamakura. 1 minute walk from the beach, easy to rend surf boards nearby, not too close to the main road so luckily not noisy, many restaurants around the corner, 20 minute walk from the city center, etc. But even better, the house is huge, beautifully designed and has everything one can think of and more (kitchen, whirlpool, sauna, 2 bathrooms, etc)! Also, these are the best beds I've slept on during my multiple Japan trips (definitely worth noting). Nothing but great words to say about Amber.

We were so comfortable here! Didn’t want to leave. After the hustle and bustle of the big cities this place has healed our souls. I would highly recommend staying here and I would love to return. The boat is also very kind and accommodating

“Big beach house -- cool Japanese style”

The house is beautiful. It reminds us of the old Japanese house from the movie. It's very big and wisely planned. We're a family of four and it doesn't feel crowded at all. It's perfect if you come with family or a big group of friends. The house is right next to the beach. It gives a real feel of being in Kamakura.

Nice architecture

The host met us at the apartment and explained how everything worked, he was very friendly and helpful. It was close to the beach It was close to places to eat. Handy to public transport Plenty of bathrooms for all of us Easy to walk to where we needed to go

“A unique experience, a discovery at every corner”

Fantastic view of Mount Fuji early in the morning on the right side behind the bay, 100 meters walk from the house. The beach is at 50 meters. Beautiful sunset on the sea. Surf and SUP for rent everywhere along the beach, including wetsuit high quality. Kamakura is an amazing place and the house is walking distance from many stunning temples. Daibutsu hiking trail from the big Buddha statue to Tsurugaoka shrine was amazing. Cherry Blossom on the main street goes on for hundreds of meters. Tadao was an extremely welcoming, efficient, clear, and kind host for Amber house.
