“A great place for someone who wants to take it a bit slower and connect with others and the culture.”
You're staying in a small japanese townhouse with 3 bedrooms which is an amazing experience. Even though it was quite cold outside the bed was very comfy and warm, as were the kotatsu in the communal space. The host is very friendly and can speak english very well. He also encourages the guests to interact which and even provides a translating tool to make this easier. You are served a traditional japanese breakfast in the morning to round out the experience. Very good for travellers who want to take it a bit slower and interact with the people and the culture instead of just going around to the tourist spots.

“Very special experience in a samurai hostel”
Good location. Nice old house. There were kimonos free to wear. Great breakfast which cooked by the owner. Owner is a nice warm person, he has his samurai outfit on, my kids loved him!

Very charming house, very central in Kamakura, with a really kind host. The bed in the room with the bunk bed was very comfortable and I had a good sleep, although those who are bothered by noise should bring earplugs, as the walls are not insulating for sound, as it is an old house. I had a wonderful breakfast and a very engaging conversation with the host, which I really appreciated. Thank you!

“A warm welcome from a samurai who loves his town of Kamakura.”
Bushi-san’s welcome and hospitality were exceptional and made it feel as if we were being welcomed into a Japanese home rather than holiday accommodation. I am looking forward to staying again. The little room we stayed in had a double bunk and we were so cozy. Conversations with Bushi-san and hearing about the history of Kamakura were a highlight of our stay, as were meeting other guests from around the world and sharing a song or two with our host.

Small wooden guest house with 3 bedrooms, Japanese style, in the middle of a quite neighborhood, at 5 min walking distance from Enoden line Wadazuka stop and 15 min walking distance from JR station Kamakura. Host Bushi was very welcoming to us as guests, while actively supporting the community. Which allows for easy connection with selected local activities. Great breakfast freshly cooked by himself and served in the small lounge.

“Very short stay, but it was enjoyable.”
The two things I like most about the property are the owner's, Bushi's, dedication to the cultural experience in Kamakura, and his passion for accessibility for people with disabilities. For the first point, Bushi wears samurai armor and can organize many tours and experiences for guests. To the second point, the lower level bathroom of the guest house, where the bath is, has been fitted for handicap use. It's surprising at first, but the more I think about it, I like that detail. It's also nice to stay in a very old, historic house.

“Enjoy a warm stay in a guesthouse”
Authentic guest house where it feels like home due to its special atmosphere and great people working here being so friendly. As a guesthouse I felt very welcoming meeting other travellers and also having interesting discussions with all the various people working here. I recommend the tour done by Bushi to learn about the Kamakura history. We even were lucky to be able to see the Fuji San during the tour. We shared with Bushi, Sakura (a volunteer) and other travellers some wine and cheese one evening like a family.

We loved the old house with its charming room, objects, memorabilia and the cosy kitchen where to have breakfast together with other guests and the host. The location was great, in a quiet small street and close to the station. But the best part was the host Bushi. Kind, friendly and funny. He created a very special place with high ambitions of inclusivity, welcoming and sharing of stories and culture.
