Very nice place, basically on the beach, close to the town and the crocodile safari. Very friendly owner and all the staff. Fresh seafood with reasonable price. We can really recommend it.

“Nice place”

Reasonably spacious room with a generous balcony. Proximity to beach. Very friendly staff. There was a cock up with our booking (not our fault). The host sorted this out by putting us up in another hotel for one night and fed us for free that first day - good resolution.

“Could be amazing, but look elsewhere”

This would have been a 10 if not for the pushy owner. The location was amazing, on the beach, and the small(ish) pool was lovely too. Shower was cold for two days however and pillows were pointless as so small. Lunch was great, we ate lunch twice. Breakfast was tasty but 2500 LKR was very expensive for what you got compared to other places in Sri Lanka. Didn’t eat dinner (see below)

“Relax in paradise”

Great view, a lot of tranquillity. The host really cares and works hard to make you happy. We liked a lot seafood that he bought and cooked for us himself. The room is clean and comfortable, the A/C works well, the sea and pool are just several meters from the hotel door. All the staff are very friendly

“Lovely people, beautiful and clean beach stay!”

Nice and clean place with a private beach access and pool. Owner and staff are super friendly. Spacious room with nice warm shower and good bed. The restaurant serves good food. Had a lovely breakfast on the beach. Nicely decorated area with lights in the trees. Room has a little sheltered balcony.

We really enjoyed staying at Coconut Bay. The owner was very kind and took us on a wonderful excursion. The location is perfect.

“A comfortable room with a sea view.”

This is a budget hotel and everything was as we expected - it was clean and comfortable although evidently the shower has to be activated from reception to enable any hot water which we would never have expected! And if you want an early night the very loud music may not be ideal for you. We did find a great place to eat nearby, if rather pricey, called Spice Traders. The beach is pretty steep in January and we chose not to swim in the sea, so the pool is very welcome.

Beautiful views of the ocean .. peaceful location, clean, spacious, child friendly, pool was clean and well maintained. The staff were super friendly and accommodated us throughout! We even used the kitchen to make food we shared with the staff. The hotel had a couple of events on a village staff party and a New Year’s Eve party which is so memorable! Thank you for being super friendly, I truly am still missing our stay.

The hotel is located in a charming place—right on the ocean shore, and we had a room with an ocean view. The room was always clean. There is a wonderful kitchen- chef who fulfills all your wishes—the food is very tasty, with fresh seafood available. The hotel also offers transportation services and organizes excursions. On one of our day trips, we were taken by the owner himself—it was very interesting, and he also told us more about the region, etc. The owner is very attentive and genuinely cares about whether everything is good. Overall, everything was very nice. For us, the biggest downside was the owner being overly persistent in encouraging us to use the services they offer. Also, one of the employees during breakfast didn’t allow us to eat in peace—he wanted to talk and stood there watching us eat, until I finally asked him to leave. But overall great place to stay.

The issue was not as above questions. they msg 3 days prior to our travel stating they dont have space for this. i requested alternate and then they revert to me on the day of travel saying they have found a space. i had to cancel my trip which was terribly disappointing

“Exceptional beachfront stay”

This small beachfront hotel is truly exceptional. With only six rooms, it offers a peaceful, intimate atmosphere and stunning ocean views right from the property. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. A special thank you to Mr. Nilantha, the wonderful owner, whose kindness and hospitality made our stay extra special. He is attentive, welcoming, and genuinely cares about his guests. Perfect for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing beachfront escape. Highly recommended, and we would happily return.

I arrived and was very disappointed with what I found. I'm not sure how there are so many reviews of 9 and 10 stars. I cant really comment as I decoded not to stay. I paid for one night and the owner kindly let me cancel. It just did not meet my expectations and didnt feel very safe. I feel it is overpriced. I moved to a five star hotel that wasn't a lot more and included a lovely breakfast.

Three Staff members. Two female and a male trying to do service as much as possible. Suneth is the chef nice person and trying cook us what we requested which is great

We were there just 4 days, but this was the greatest time for us 6. Suneth, the cook did everything to make us feel good. It was very heartwarming for us. The entire stuff was very friendly, and we feel like one from the family. I recommend much this hotel 🤗

The hotel and staff are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. They can arrange excursions which are better than others online and also offer to cook specific meals if required. The weekly BBQ is great with music and dancing. The resident dog is lovely and friendly and keeps the strays in line. We witnessed turtles hatching on the beach when we were there which was amazing

Good location of beach

The hotel location is simply perfect! Nice beach with almost no people. Additional compliments to the chef - all food is extremely tasty, made from fresh ingredients with passion and love!
