“Nice resort”

We had a precarious situation in the hotel with the now 'ex-manager' but the owner stepped in immediately and fired the guy. In total the hotel is amazing. They have amazing food and very nice rooms. If you need a thick matrass you need to book the best room tho ;) but this is just complaining on a high level. The resort is super clean, everybody is friendly and doing a great job. I really have to say the owner , Reno has the heart on the right spot and did what he could to make us feel better, after the ex manager was being the bottom of human society, he fired him and talked to the right people to find out the truth, he believed our story from the beginning and made sure the guy doesn't get a job in this area.

We loved our stay at Valampuri. The pool was great with an aweosme view to the lagoon. The property itself a treat to the eyes. Akash was super helpful and he was always there for our needs. We had the best Sri Lankan breakfast, it was super delicious.

A great place to spend time. Excellent service, good food, clean room, and a comfortable bed. For kitesurfing enthusiasts, there's a great instructor and brand-new Duotone kites for rent. I also recommend taking a tour to a distant kite spot with a downwind return. It's inexpensive, but it's the best place for kiting. Staying at the hotel feels like being part of a big family. Aakash and guys thank you for wonderful time ☺️

We had wonderful time in Valampuri resort. We originally booked the place for two of us and add another person last minute. When we get there Akash show us whole resort and given us the opportunity to choose the cabin suite for us. Whole place was clean, quiet and beautifuly covered with trees. The views by the pool with sunset in the beach is amazing. Every single staff member was polite, friendly and helpful. Tasty and fresh food offered during our stay. Akash arranged all transport and all activities nicely on time. We had a wonderful experience on our dolphins trip and lagoon trip. Every one made us feel welcome and we enjoyed our stay very much. I wish I could stay there longer.

When we arrived, there was no baby cot available, but the manager (Aakash) quickly took care of it and arranged a bed with a mosquito net the very next day. Truly excellent service! Highly recommended.

Everyone, Akash and the rest of the team were super friendly and helpful, they offered tips, answered all our questions, and made our stay and experience amazing. We took kite surfing lessons and the teacher was great and made sure everyone was comfortable and having fun, regardless of their level.

“Nice, peaceful resort”

It's a nice leisure resort with a small kiting center. As a female solo traveler, I found it a nice, quiet, and safe place to stay. The outdoor area is beautiful, surrounded by coconut trees. When I ordered a fresh coconut, they picked it directly from the tree for me. There is also a very nice pool. Aakash was incredibly helpful with logistics, helping me with anything I needed and organized a safari and a lagoon tour which were great. I also did kiting lessons with Jeevan who was a great instructor. His precise feedback had me riding upwind in no time. They have also recently purchased a few 2026 Duotone SLS kites, but only have 3 bars so you need to be quick to reserve it.

Great location in Kalpitiya, really nice hotel and outside area. Super helpful staff, special thanks to Saji, who organised a Dolphin Tour for us for a great price and helped with the scooter!

“It was low season and no wind for kite surfing but the bungalows / cabanas were really cosy/ quiet”

The food was Sri Lankan style but was very tasty - great chef. It was an easy walk to town to change money . The young guy working there who looked after us - Akash - was attentive to our needs and always available. We took a 1/2 day safari to Wilputta National park that was well-organized

“A perfect site for relaxation and adventure at the same time!”

We had a wonderful time at Valampuri Resort! Even though we did not go kite-surfing, we enjoyed our stay very much! The whole facility is beautiful: cozy cabins below palm trees, a spacious pool, sunset view, outdoor bathroom (which felt luxurious and adventurous at the same time!), view of the lagoon, … and the food was delicious! We tried the deviled clams, biriyani, grilled tuna and fish and everything was fresh and tasty. We appreciated that they use seasonal and regional products (therefore not everything on the menu is available … obviously! I can‘t understand how people could possibly complain about that). But especially Akash made our stay perfect! He organised a trip via boat and tuktuk to Wilpattu National Park and it was amazing! Every transport was already there and waiting for us and the whole trip was a great experience. Akash also helped us with our further travels, told us when the Dutch Fort is open for visitors and so on! He was a huge help. Therefore, we highly recommend staying here even if you do not kite! It is a very relaxing and beautiful location!
