“Great place to stay for kiting & vibes :)”

Great place to stay - nice people, great kite teacher. All around a super pleasant experience!

Had a really great stay here. The hostel was very clean, and the whole place is beautiful with a perfect location directly by the sea. We originally booked for 2 days and ended up staying 3 nights because we enjoyed it so much. We also booked our safari to Wilpattu National Park through the hostel, and everything was super well organized and easy. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay, and the prices were very fair as well. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Room Size good. Ac works well. Bed comfortable. Clean.Staff very friendly. They wnet and got fish for us and made a good dinner. Beautiful location . Some big windmills in plain view however they did not work so no noise.

“Relaxing stay at a wonderful place right next to the beach”

Really beautiful property right next to the beach and the sea. Super nice to relax, just sitting around the tables, hammock, playing basketball at the hoop or going for a swim/tan. Staff were super welcoming and accommodating, welcome drink was provided and upgraded me to a private room for nothing which was a very kind gesture.

I can highly recommend Surfpoint. We stayed there for a few days and had a fantastic time with the staff and Shan, our kite instructor. They are always happy to help, organize transportation to the airport or the lagoon, and are generally very accommodating. The price-performance ratio is very fair, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The resort also has a fantastic view, as it is located right by the sea. The breeze keeps the place a little cooler in the blazing sun, which is great. We will definitely be back. Many thanks.

“Good kiting and delicious food”

We had a room with a lot of space on a compound with also a lot of space. The staf was very friendly and the food was delicious. With a van or Tuktuk we were taken to the lagoon for kiting. We did some small downwinders back to Surfpoint at the end of the day and also went kiting in the bay in front of Surfpoint. Almost all the days we could go kiting 16-20 knots.

The staff were the kindest and most helpful team during our month in Sri Lanka, helping us with supporting our child being ill, local knowledge and support for trips, transfers and everything in between. The food was good and varied particularly the daily special evening meals. The vibe is relaxed and chilled with a lot of kite surfers but also a few travellers like ourselves looking for a less tourist heavy location. The location is very well placed for diving and dolphin watching tours, both of which essentially leave from the beach on the property, the same is true of kitesurfing. We really enjoyed our 5 days at surf point and would recommend to those that like a laid back quiet location with good access to activities.

“Best place around Kalpitiya”

We came to Kalpitiya for kitesurfing and spent a long time researching different places beforehand. In the end, we chose Surfpoint Sri Lanka – and we couldn’t be happier with that decision. Yes, there are other hotels that are located a bit closer to the kite spots, but they are noticeably more expensive and feel far less personal. At Surfpoint, the atmosphere is completely different. Every single staff member is incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. They go out of their way to make everything possible, and you truly feel looked after at all times. After countless trips around the world, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced such amazing hosts. Another big highlight is the location: Surfpoint is right on the beach. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves, with an uninterrupted view of the ocean, is something truly special. Thank you again for everything – and see you very soon. We will definitely be back!

“Clean, comfortable and accommodating.”

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The shower was consistently hot and AC worked well. The staff were very friendly. The manager in particular was super helpful. The food is really good and reasonably priced for the area. The accommodated our vegetarian needs and even made us veggie burgers on burger night. The location is good. Honestly the beach is being consumed by the sea but Surfpoint are doing a really good job at retaining what they can. We are not kite surfers and we came here just to relax after some hard travelling and it was perfect. It was also great to be surrounded by enthusiastic kite surfers and watch them in the bay. We wish we had allowed more time here.
