“Unforgettable experience”

I started learning wing foil, and I was lucky with both the wind and my instructor, Dani, who was very patient and calm. The overall experience has been amazing — one of the best moments of my trip to Sri Lanka! The wooden bungalow was beautiful, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to the lagoon. The atmosphere is really nice, with kitesurfers and wingfoilers from all over the world. The food is delicious, prepared by Charlie, and Paco’s cocktails at the bar are great too. I also enjoyed the morning yoga class with views over the lagoon... all in all, a unique experience in a stunning setting. Thank you, Margarita, for this wonderful discovery

The location was really nice and relaxing, small and cozy. The owners and staff were incredible nice and helpful and food was delicious. I stayed there for 2 weeks and it felt like home. Was hard to leave. Kite spot and instructures I can recommend as well, best place to learn kiting and spending some time in a great community.

“Amazing kite school with a great kitesurfing athmosfere”

I really enjoyed my stay. The wooden bungalows are very rustic and cozy, with open roofing and an outdoor shower. The garden is well-maintained too. The school has a WhatsApp group where they share information about lesson planning, wind conditions, and activities, which I found really well-organized. Dinners are served with all the guests at the kite center, which was just 5 minutes away by bike. Safran was my instructor. He is very experienced and teaches in a great way—always calm, helpful, and full of good advice. I made great progress thanks to him. I felt like in a kitesurf community . Thanks a lot to Safran and all the Margarita staff!

“Beautiful and calm place with a great outdoor shower”

Nisala is an amazing manager. He took very good care of us and he made our stay very unique. The bungalows are beautiful and well maintained. They keep the place very clean. We will miss this place and if we go back we will stay here again. Thanks again Nisala, Ruben, for our enjoyable stay.

“Lovely place with very friendly people”

Very simple but clean and spacious bungalow in a nice compound with lots of plants, atmospheric outside bathroom and shower, very friendly staff, tasty breakfast, free drinking water refill station, old bikes provided to get to the kite center (about a 7 minute cycle).

“Great vibe and amazing kitesurf experience”

We stayed one month in total and we had an amazing stay at Sri Lanka Kite by Margarita ! The kite spot is perfect for beginners to more advanced level. The school is located on the upper part of the lagoon where there are less schools, which meant that some days we were only 5 on the spot. The staff is incredibly nice, we felt really good during our whole stay. There are also three beach boys, Chathu, Sanji and Diane, who are super helpful and are always happy to help you in any situations (rescue, untangle the lines, bring your kite upwind). The owners, Ruben and Eusebi, are very nice, accessible at all time and super flexible ! We changed our plans multiple times and whenever we needed a plan for a driver or an activity they had very good contacts. We also did a kite trip to Vella island where we did our first downwind, best experience ! The food was also amazing. Every night there is buffet, usually a Sri Lankan rice and curry, and sometimes, as the owners are spanish you can find some tortilla or chorizo. The pizzas were also the best in whole Sri Lanka ! We loved our stay and thanks to all the team we could progress a lot. Looking forward to come back !!

Nice place, friendly staff and the crew in the kitebase. There are bicycles available for free. Breakfast is ok.

“Loved it!”

Really chilled and relaxed place! Perfect location to learn kitesurfing. The staff was nice, Safran was the best teacher and Nisala the best kitchen chef - food was soooo delicious. Even though it was low season and really quiet we really enjoyed it! Would definitely come back one day!

Great vibes, lovely staff and very sociable so we met lots of other people. The evening meal was always delicious. It's a nice rustic vibe.

We had such a great stay at Margarita Village. The vibe is super laid back. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The communal dinners were a highlight of our days, the food was so delicious and it was great hanging out with different people. The shower and bathroom is outdoors which was quite the experience! We'd definitely come back! It's the perfect place if you just want to hang out and enjoy life.
