A relaxing oasis of calm on the lagoon surrounded by lush vegetation. The room we had was extremely comfortable, spacious & beautifully decorated. The wet room is partially exposed to the outside which is beautiful as long as you are comfortable sharing it with cheeky frogs! The swimming pool area has lovely loungers and there are shady areas with comfortable sofas to unwind and enjoy the beautiful views and sunsets. All the staff are so kind and helpful & both the breakfasts and evening meals were superb.

Beautifully decorated rooms set in an enormous and peaceful garden, full of areas to sit and relax, including by the pool. The breakfasts we had here were amazing and the crab curry we had for dinner was one of the best meals of my whole life. Very creative and talented chef! Ahmad and all the staff were very kind, hospitable and accommodating, especially as we had a very late flight, but were given a room to use after check out until we left for the airport. And a thank you to Nifla for her very attentive care. The hotel overlooks the laguna and it’s very easy to get a tuk tuk into the town or further down the coastline. Big thank you to the whole Luna Laguna team!

We stayed here for 6 days at the beginning of our journey and we truly enjoyed every bit of it! The team of luna laguna tried everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They even brought some stuff from the market especially for our kids, hung up a swing and picked some coconuts for them to drink. They also helped with all the transfers and tours. The food was exceptional and every day they served a different breakfast. We would definitely stay here again :)

What a wonderful place. Not only because of the park itself, but especially because of the people and the food. We had our most beautiful New Year’s Eve in years. Delicious food, dancing together, and meaningful conversations — also with other guests. All of this thanks to the incredible hospitality of the crew.

Peaceful setting with the most incredible hard working staff. We enjoyed celebrating the New Year here and over our 3 days made some wonderful new friends. Food is outstanding and make sure to enjoy the evening banquet style experience too. The gardens and villas have been thoughtfully designed. Overall, a very special place.

Very nice hotel, nicely decorated with good taste. The property has a wide park and offers beautiful lagoon views. The restaurant is excellent, and we recommend choosing half board (breakfast and dinner), as it was the best food we had during our three-week trip in Sri Lanka and there are very limited options to eat in Kalpitiya. The staff were very kind and helpful, with a special mention to our waiter, Ahamed, who was attentive throughout our stay. The staff also helped us organize activities nearby, including a lagoon boat tour and kitesurfing lessons.

The team went over and above to make us feel welcome. The food gets a special mention thanks to a very talented chef. Also Ahmed and his team must have worked really hard to clear up after the cyclone. The pool and beautiful gardens were pristine. We loved our stay thank you so much.

Localisation, comfort, food

The food was very good, it has been the best food we've had travelling in Sri Lanka. The location was very peaceful and far from the city and traffic. It's perfect if you want a peaceful, restful stay without ding too much.

Breakfast and dinner were amazing - the food was delicious and the team very lovely. We adored the setting, including our big bedroom and private rooftop spot for evening drinks. The swimming pool was wonderful, as were the ambalamas in the garden for reading and chatting. We very much hope to return one day!
