Beautiful and perfect location just 10-15 min walk in to town. Very clean room and private bathroom. I did not try the breakfast so can't say. Would absolutely stay again if in Kalmar.

We happened to have a good last minute deal and had a 6 bed dorm for just two of us, not too far from Kalmar Slot and centre (at least by car). Staff was friendly, and proactively asked whether we would be able to arrive in time when we were latish.

“Pleasant stay with family in Vandrarhem Svanen”

Very good hostel with excellent facilities such as kitchen with microwaves, fridges, electric stove, kettles and basic kitchen utensils. There was also a good common-area/lobby with TV and small library with storybooks, novels, board-games, etc. There was also washing machine and vacuum cleaner. The room was convenient for a family of four with children and beds were also good. It was close to the bus-stop and around 15 mins by walk from the central train-station. The area around the hostel was good for walking. The staff were helpful and breakfast was also quite good for the price of 100 SEK. Bathrooms were quite clean.

I was alone in a 4 person room, what I really appreciated after being on a long trip and felt ill. Staff was great, a lot of spare around, nature, silent, could see stars in the night, community kitchen was great and well equipped and clean. Nice Talks to other guests, Sauna Option to rent was great, even I had no time to book it. I would definetaly come back!

Staff was really helpful as I had to check-in really late (my bus arrived at midnight). Everything was organised nicely, including questions about bedlinen or towels needed. As a consequence of checking in late, I was a bit late getting my room ready in the morning (cleaning) and they were very understanding on checking out a bit later. I asked for timetables on public transport to visit Öland island and I had a full page handwritten with schedules of both buslines and the ferry :-) There's cleaning gear at your service to get your cleaning done, as well as a to-do list on what's expected. Everything is clean, new and tidy, and it's very silent. The location is just off Kalmar itself, but it only took me 15-20 minutes by foot from the Central station. A hi-five for the amazing showers and shared kitchen !

It is as Swedish it can be. Close to the hostel is a homestead farm (museum) with a café, though even the hostel didn't serve breakfast, the café dit. It was also not too far away from supermarkets
