We felt truly at home with Alexandra and Nikos. They welcomed us warmly and provided us with all kinds of homemade treats, eggs from their own chickens, and even some additional basic food supplies so we didn’t have to go shopping right away. The view is simply stunning, the apartment is spacious, comfy and clean, and it has everything you need. We even found a few new bedtime books for our son — only the toys in the garden were worn-out (we did not use the pool so we can’t say anything about it). The apartment is set back and very quiet, offering wonderful views of the sea and the surroundings from the terrace or even directly from the bed. Everything is easy to reach by car, and it’s a great starting point for all kinds of excursions as well as for visiting the lovely seaside tavernas. We rented our car directly from Nikos, which we can also highly recommend. Thank you Alexandra and Nikos for this wonderful stay!

“Peace, lots of space, great balcony!”

First of all, we fell in love with the dog and the cats 🐈 . (Tip: support them and buy some catfood if you can). Furthermore, the hosts do everything to make you as comfort as possible. Everything you need is there. Maybe you have more at home but if you're on holiday you don't need everything. You have the sun, a great appartement, a great swimmingpool, what more do you need? If you want the business of a touristic centre, go somewhere else! h Here you find all the peace you want, far away from the crowds but still nearby the beach or other things. Get a car and get around. You can even rent a car at this place!

“Lovely setting and great hosts and animals.”

Fantastic hosts. So helpful and generous. Lovely flat with a lovely balcony for relaxing. We loved spending time with the cats and dogs. Great for shops and eating facilities. I'd recommend hiring a car if you want to get around the island, as the bus service is not that frequent.

Nikos and Alexandra were very friendly. The free shuttle to and from the airport was great. The provisions left by the hosts including their own eggs and honey was also great as the weather was stormy and I didnt need to go out.

The view from the property was amazing. They had cats and dogs so we loved seeing them. They were very friendly just like the hosts.

“Lovely stay at Alexandra Homestay”

Alexandra and Nikos are wonderful hosts, very helpful, friendly and obliging. The accommodation comfortable, 2 spacious bedrooms with double beds (a 3rd double bed was in the kitchenette). Very nice private patio/balcony to the front (which could be accessed from each bedroom). This overlooked fields towards the sea and from where to watch the lovely sunsets. This patio/balcony had 2 sun loungers, table and chairs plus a sofa. The back patio/terrace had small table with 2 chairs and the washing machine. Access to the accommodation was up a metal staircase (on the outside) and entry to the accommodation was from the small back patio/terrace into one of the bedrooms (this was fine with us as the room was only used at night to sleep). The bathroom is in-between the 2 bedrooms. It was lovely of Alexandra and Nikos to give us fresh fruits, jam and olive oil all from their home grown produce. The property is not in a main tourist area which we actually liked and it was close enough to walk to the village centre. There is a small shop, a cafe and a couple of tavernas. We frequented one of the tavernas a few times and found the people very friendly and nice food. Our original intention was to get around by local buses but this we found was going to prove quite difficult. Nikos does car rental and it was so easy to rent a car for our holiday period which enabled us to see parts of Rhodes we certainly would not have been able to do. We would certainly stay again.

“Very Homely Holiday Stay”

The rural setting and privacy. Good facilities - pool, garden. Local village within walking distance. The hosts were exceptional - nothing to much trouble. Welcome pack of grapes, wine, cheese, ham, eggs. Felt very secure. We hope to go back one day.

“A holiday with an amazing view”

Alexandra Homestay is an oasis away from they tourist crowds. Nikos and Alexandra contacted us as soon as We had booked, confirming the reservation, welcoming us and offering any help we needed. They are very kind, helpful and loving people. Thank you for your gifta on the arrival and during the stay. The dogs are so cute. The garden offer you a nice rest in the sun, in the shadow or in the water. Love the hangmat. The apartment is comfortable and nice. Beds good. and the balcony is amazing! You can stay here all day with that view.Love the sunset! Nikos helped us around the car rent. Thank you! We explored the island with excitement and great satisfaction. Surroundings: the nearest beach is 5-7 minuter bike-ride away. (There are two bikes). Very few people on the beach, as it is more of a kite center and as there are less tourists in the area. Kalavarda vilage is a few minutes walk from the apartment. A cute square with a spring with fresh water, two restaurants and an outdated mini-market. The nearest supermarket is a about 3 kilometers away. We highly recommend a visit to the therapist Massage Essence by Nina. We found her info in the apartment and booked a session. She is in the village. She outstanding!

“A gem of a place”

We had a wonderfully relaxing break at Alexandra Homestay. The owners, Nikos and Alexandra, were incredibly welcoming, kind and generous. The apartment was comfortable and offered all we needed. We had an amazing balcony from which to watch Aegean sunsets, and our children loved the swimming pool set in a wonderful garden. We loved Kalavarda, but be aware it is a bit off the beaten track. You might want to hire a car, but we used the 59 bus for excursions.

“Beautiful people, lovely home, and highlight of our trip.”

Alexandra and Nicos picked us up from the airport after flying in at 00:00, waiting with a sign with our names in front of the entrance and drove us to our stay. When we arrived we greeted first by his two dogs who didn’t bark but were excited to see us. In the village at the time most restaurants were closed, but after being showed to our rooms we and the kitchen we knew were in good hands. The fridge was filled with self made jams from his garden, cheese, bread, fruit from the garden, and homemade wine that in my opinion, was the best I’d tried on the island. The two of us had a choice between three rooms that were both decorated and clean. Staying in many bed and breakfasts and hostels, and hotels - I have to say there’s few places I’ve felt so quickly at home. The next day Nicos showed us around his property and gave us fresh fruit from the garden to try before showing us the bicycles we could lend during our stay. We were given good tips on all the see and do’s on the island and evenings enjoyed talks over wine. The next day we decided to rent a quad. Nicos drove us to the renters free of charge on his way to work in the morning and sent us on our way. On our last day before driving us back to the airport, Alexandra cooked for us. All in all the best homestay I’ve been to so far.
