Excellent location, calm and quiet environment, staff was supportive

“Little paradise right by the sea with an excellent pool”

A wonderful little paradise right by the sea with an excellent pool. The area is spacious, secluded, and peaceful, with a long, uncrowded beach nearby where you can watch local fishermen at work in the mornings. The house is tidy and clean. It was hard to leave this place — I sincerely recommend it. It’s true that there are no shops nearby, so you need to go to a neighboring town, but the host arranged a tuk-tuk for us, and we were able to buy everything we needed — you just have to plan ahead.

“Stunning Location.”

One of two bungalows sharing a beautiful coconut lined garden with a 28m infinity pool overlooking two stunning beaches(as keen lap pool swimmers, we made the most of it)! We rented the smaller of the two bungalows which had 2 en-suite A/C bedrooms. It was comfortable but basic. Lester the caretaker lives on site and is always on hand should you need him. He did some washing for us and fetched a few provisions. You can walk down to the deserted beach from the garden and watch/help the fishermen haul in their nets. Sea very rough, not suitable for swimming. Every morning we were blown away by how stunningly beautiful the grounds and views were. We were the only 2 people there during our 4 day stay. Upoint restaurant is about 15 minute walk away and offer a free Tuk Tuk ride to their restaurant should you need it. Lovely family run restaurant serving excellent food.

This was my favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka. The location is absolutely stunning, and the infinity pool with a direct view of the beach is incredible—definitely the highlight of the stay. The cottage is simple but comfortable, with everything you need. I also loved the monkeys around the property and the local dog, Lulu.

“The perfect spot”

The swimming pool is AMAZING, Lester the caretaker really helpful and the location next to the beach is wonderful. Smaller cottage basic but clean and comfortable

We were a group of 6, including two children (ages 10 and 14). Every single one of us enjoyed the weekend we spent at Ocean Cottage. The cottage is charming and comfortable. The property is really nice and quiet. The highlights of our stay were definitely the pool and the food.

“One of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka”

Such an excellent stay, the photos don’t do it justice, the pool is amazing and right next to a beautiful beach. Lester is brilliant host/ caretaker, and can cook dinner and breakfast, which is very good quality. He also made some simple dishes for our young children. He also arranged a Tuk Tuk to an ATM and shops, five minutes drive away. Also just a few minute walk is a restaurant/bar called Thurya which is excellent, and run by a local family. Great for a drink or dinner. Also we went on a lagoon tour with wildlife wonders, five minutes walk from the cottage, highly recommend.

Beautiful location, secluded and with great views over the beach. Lester was very welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. The property is simple but the rooms very comfortable.

“Peace and quiet”

The place is amazing 🤩 no people around, you can rest, swim (the swimming pool is very nice), the beach is beautiful very close to the house. Very nice dogs 🐕 coming from the village needs some food and company ;)

“Awesome!”

Basically there is 20-25meter pool and 2,5km wide beach that is almost always almost empty :) In top of that you get beautiful palm garden. This is awesome place to get some rest and chill.

The location. Can’t find a better spot. People passing by were envying the pool and the yard. The infinity pool was absolutely amazing and had one of the best views I ever seen from a pool. Friendly dogs hanging with you in the evenings. Lester the housekeeper made wonderful meals. Calm beach without a lot of tourists. Rustic houses.

Great private beach location. Big private pool and lots of garden space. Tastefully renovated old bungalow. Lester was an absolutely great cook who made Sri Lankan dishes to order that were all delicious!

“Remote and incredible”

OFF THE BEATEN TRACK ! You and nature ! Lester the caretaker cooked our meals - amazing and authentic … this is a basic villa but that’s the appeal of it … the pool is amazing at 25 meters - monkeys came for breakfast … mongoose at dusk … amazing experience

Lovely relaxing stay! Nestled between a slightly more wild beach on the right and on the left, a little fishing harbour and a more gentle bay. The bay right by the harbour was a few minutes walk away and was good for swimming. The pool is really stunning. The house is set back in the palm tree gardens and is very comfortable with air con etc. The caretaker was most helpful and the hosts very responsive.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Lester the concierge is a wonderful cook and helped us with all our enquiries. Lester makes Ocean Cottage, he is a super person.

Everything, the location, the pool and especially Lester who makes us so welcome, is available to cook fabulous meals and can answer any questions.

“Fantastic”

We had the most amazing and peaceful vacation ever! Do not mentioned the location and our private host/Chef Lester, who is beyond expectation. Way beyond! The garden is wonderful and relaxing - and so breathtakingly beautiful. We had excellent dinners served and cooked by Lester, I believe we had better then any restaurant there! Do not mentioned about the best private pool ever and nice bay around the property. Cannot wait to go back! The location itself is indeed silent and peaceful, apprx. 3 hours driving form the airport if Colombo. The airport shuttle is available - if you need it. if you are looking for tourist place/restaurant/citylife/etc.. probably it's not your location. If you want/need to spend some time in the Paradise, and make your head empty than this is the perfect choice.
