The informality of the entire hotel and its staff which amounted to an exceptional courtesy and enjoyable time in the hotel. ALL the staff were most hospitable, the breakfasts and catering first class and the cleanliness and caring of the facilities immaculate.

“Dissatisfied”

Mistakenly we booked this hotel as we do not know the country. We thought it was in the area where I had my conference. When we reached the area we understood it was a wrong location and asked the hotel management not to charge the whole amount as we didn't stay. However, it looked like they were more focused on the income than building customer relationships. We decided not to visit or recommend this property to anyone. I am sure, you deserve better.

The location is perfect! It is in the quieter side of Kalamaki so the beach was not crowded and we could enjoy it. The owners are kind and accommodating and the staff as well is friendly. We travelled with a 3y.o. who is quite picky with his food and the owners went above and beyond to make sure he was ok. We enjoyed the sunrise and sunset! The place is great if you want to slow down a bit and stay away from the noise of the city..

As soon as I arrived I could tell it was a family-run hotel, Alexander and Diamonde were lovely and made me feel at home. I had the best Moussaka I’ve ever eaten in the hotel restaurant, which was very good value.

Nice old school hotel (in good condition, clean). Very pleasant service (people on site, cleaners every day), beautiful views, beach right next to the hotel, no extra charge (dog stay, beach umbrellas). Parking available, wifi works. At first we booked for one night, but we stayed for two more because this hotel and location are a real gem of the southern region. Don't imagine 5 stars (with pools, free alcohol and massage), it's 4 stars and very very good. We have stayed in about 30 hotels across Crete and this one is a really good choice for this region - price/quality ratio, attitude, location on the beach. The funniest thing is that 10 km away is Matala (oversaturated with tourists and expensive) and then you discover such a gem as Kalamaki, kilometers of empty sandy beach right in front of the hotel, and no tourist traps, You have here really authentic taverns, a few cute shops, a beautiful village right on the beach. I've just told you a secret :) And thanks to the hotel owners who organized a very nice free lunch for the guests on Easter.

I really don't want to write anything positive, as I want to keep it to myself :) However, here we go: We absolutely loved our stay at the Alexander Hotel in Crete—it was a top-notch experience deserving of 10 stars! The hotel was exactly what we needed, and we must mention its exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and stunning views. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome when I arrived. The location was perfect, offering easy access to the beach and local attractions. The amenities were fantastic, and the food was delicious. I can't recommend Alexander Hotel enough—it's truly a gem in Crete!
