“Comfy, relaxed, welcoming.”

An amazing stay, the rooms are really comfy and were kept spotless each day. The pool area is great along with the restaurant and store on the premises ! It is in a perfect location, a short trip away from Chania old town and Agia Marina/Platanias. All of the staff were super attentive and friendly, Anna, Andreas and Maria, along with very one else were brilliant and work extremely hard to keep everyone happy at all times. Would definitely recommend!

I booked room with sea view, however on the 1st night what I got was 'room with roof top air conditioning and a tree view'; the room did not have any resemblance to room I viewed on Booking.com. The room position was so noisy I did not sleep at all. This hotel is at a junction with 2 very busy roads. When I arrived reception was closed, the bar by the pool was open and a note had been left on a door for me, which I did not initially find as I wasn't expecting a note on a door. The pool bar manager watched me struggle with my suitcase on steps/slope I asked if he could help and he responded "I do not have to help but I will"......... Luckily he was the only rude person I met in Crete. The next morning I was informed there was no other room available but then a room was 'found' with pool view but at least the room was similar to photo of room I had booked. No, I would not return. I paid for sea view and would like refund for difference of sea and pool view.

“Stay away, it is a disappointment”

Ants in the bathroom through the tiles and on the balcony, on the 2nd floor. They are trying to renovate and improve some parts, but almost everything is old and worn out. The wooden construction on the balcony is conpletely rotten away, same as the wood handrails, and should have been renovated 5-15 years ago.

“Really cool”

I really liked the comfortable bed, the spa bath, the beautiful view, the large windows and the balcony. I appreciated the lovely little touch of the towel swans one morning. There’s also an elevator available, which is convenient even for just two floors. Well located, with many restaurants around (especially Virage Family, which is really great for breakfast). The area is also very nice for running. P.S: You can park in front of the hotel, but spaces are limited. In low season it’s fine as there are usually enough spots nearby, but it might be more difficult during high season.

Excellent value for money. Full sized flat at affordable price. Good location just Infront of the hotel you have sea side. 5 min walk to near by beach. Good connection to city via public transport. There is a super market where you can buy food in the hotel.

“Perfect little friendly hotel, ideal for exploring the Chania region of Crete”

Porto Kalamaki is a small but lovely value for money hotel. What it lacks from the massive super hotels, it more than makes up with the friendliness of the staff and the family feel We felt the location was perfect for us, in a small village between Agia Marina and Chania, with the former being easy to walk to and Chania and the amazing beaches around there just a small cheap bus journey away. The food at the hotel was lovely and simple and there was a little convenience store on site which was perfect for our suite with its own kitchen. Be careful of the cocktails during hapy hour, they are cheap and very strong and tasty and youll end up leaving drunken messages to all your work friends back home!

All ameneties and staff on site are amazing! Big pool, pool bar serving drinks (happy hour!!) and restaurant with decents prices and good food. There's a little supermarket also and a short walk away there's a beach and more restaurants. Great location - there's possibility to take the local bus (that goes to Chania or Platanias) just outside or have a quet night in. Some excursion have a pick-up point right outside too so it's convinient. We always go back here!

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Really liked our green room ) Location was convenient 25 minute by bus to Chania. Bus stop was close too. There was a nice small beach like 5 minutes away.

Maria and Anna on reception are wonderful. Andreas and Maria who run the bar, restaurant and pool area are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable and helpful

“Amazing hotel”

Wonderful family run hotel with amazing welcoming staff. Very helpful with great excursion tips and when we requested extra pillows/toaster for the room it was delivered straight away. Room was a great size with a lovely balcony that overlooked the sea and the pool. Bed very comfortable and good shower. The pool was very spacious and not too crowded, with great poolside bar. Small shop right on site and we rented a car through the hotel which was very convenient. The location in Kalamaki was great for us, an easy cheap bus ride into Chania and possible to drive to other locations like Elafonisi, Kissamos and Rethimno. Would 10/10 stay here again!

Newly renovated rooms, very large, enough space for a family. Very fresh and clean. large balcony, with sea view. Close to many beaches and restaurants, as well as good food available at the hotel restaurant.

The staff are great, friendly and helpful and provide fantastic service. Our room was clean and serviced every day except Sunday. The pool bar is the focal point of the hotel and provides drinks at reasonable prices with a cocktail happy hour, and snacks through the day. The restaurant is very good providing lovely traditional Greek dishes.

I liked the fact that our room was at the front of the hotel and we had a wonderful sea view. Room is quite spacious, modern furnishing and clean.
