The accommodation was ideally located to walk straight up to the monasteries of Meteora. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town which can be both good and bad but we were here to walk so it did not bother us. The accommodation is spacious and immaculately presented with everything you need. We stayed late April 2026 and it was chilly in the accommodation in the morning and evening. We could not find any heating other than Air conditioning but we managed without.

“Peaceful and central”
We loved being so close to the huge rocks of Meteora. The accommodation is walking distance from the centre of Kalambaka and the train/bus stations. A peaceful, clean, beautiful place to stay - and we appreciated the aircon! Rooms were a great size too. Big enough for a family with three kids at least.

The place is located on the outside of the city, out of the busy area. But you can still walk to the centre where there are plenty of restaurants. It is clean and has everything you need, it has plenty of space. It was also easy to find with the directions we got.

“Loved the place”
We loved the location - a quiet, comfortable neighborhood with an amazing view from the small terrace. The apartment was modern, spotless, and well-equipped for everything we needed. Parking was available right across the house, on the street. Plus, it was just a short walk to local restaurants and about 10 minutes from the town center.

“Very comfortable and clean accomodation in perfect location”
Loved the location. Basic kitchen facilities (no microwave or oven) but enough to get by comfortably. Also very close to local restaurants and super market. Could walk from here up to Holy Trinity in 40 minutes. Highly recommend this walk. Also in summer you could easily walk to Sunset Peak to avoid the traffic. We were warm and comfortable.

The House Under the Rocks is a wonderful place to stay in Meteora. It’s clean, cozy, and offers incredible views of the famous rock formations. The location is perfect—just a short distance from the Meteora monasteries, making it easy to explore. A peaceful and scenic retreat for a memorable visit to Meteora!
