“Old style hotel with beautiful views”

The hotel has a unique feeling to it. Like stepping back in time. The facilities are great; shuttle bus to the station and tenmonkan, an onsen and a buffet breakfast with plenty of variety. The view of Sakurajima from the upper floor was also exceptional.

The hotel's facilities are dated (in a traditional way) but our stay was very comfortable, the room was clean, and we didn't lack anything there. The view from the hotel room was spectacular and made up for the remote location. A shuttle bus to the train station and to Tenmonkan was also provided, which was convenient. We could definitely recommend the Sun Royal Hotel.

The views of Sakurajima from the 13th floor Onsen and from the bedrooms are exceptional. Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds and pillows comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful - outstanding customer service. There are nice waterfront walking paths that would be great to jog around in the early morning before it gets too hot.

“Not 4-star quality but passable”

Location is decent, but it still takes a long time to get to the main attractions, staff are friendly.

The view was amazing just like the picture in the ad. The sky bar beautiful and bar man serving great. Also had coffee in room bonus point.

Lovely views, helpful staff, great breakfasts, efficient new laundry room, good size of room, shuttle service into town/station. Origami crane was a nice welcoming touch.

The view to Sakurajima volcano was amazing. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the property is good value for money. The staff were always available and happy to assist in any way. Definitely recommend.

Lovely old style hotel, very clean and modern. Buffet Breakfast was sensational. very fresh and a large variety. The vibe of the hotel was great as it appears to attract businesses/wedding events. Onsite parking was fantastic, I think was 1500 Yen, but can't remember. The room was great, although dated was comfortable and spacious with breathtaking views of the volcano however it was just unfortunate that we were there with bad weather at the time. Beds were reasonably comfortable. Close to main shopping centre, lots of variety across the road. Definitely would stay again if we visit the area again.

Both breakfast and dinner were very good

The staff was excellent and attentive. The room is really old but was clean. Comfortable bed. The free shuttle from the station was really convenient.

Virtually everything, comfy bed, view of Sakurajima, good and varied food （breakfast and dinner）, frequent shuttle bus service （hourly ）. Overall, real good value for money.
