Gracias is a self-catering accommodation located in Kagoshima, just a 5-minute walk from the ferry terminals offering high speed boats and ferries to Yakushima and Sakurajima. Air-conditioned apartments are fitted with a flat-screen TV, a balcony and a full kitchen with a microwave, a refrigerator and a stovetop. Private bathrooms are equipped with a hairdryer, a bath and slippers. Each apartment also comes with a view of Sakurajima. Gracias Apartment is within a 2-minute walk from the nearest convenience store, a cafe and a restaurant, while JR Kagoshima Station is a 15-minute walk away. Kagoshimachuo Station is a 20-minute tram ride away, while Kagoshima Airport is located 28 km away. No meals are served on site.

“Ok apartment, lacking some practical touches”
The apartment is very close to the Yakushima ferry terminal, has a washing machine which was very convenient and a well working internet. I don't want to leave a bad review, but I booked this apartment based on positive comments and was somewhat taken aback. I don't know what criteria was used by guests who gave Gracias 9/10 rating? The apartment could have been very cozy with some thoughtfulness (practical appliances, a lamp/table near the bed, accessible sockets etc and yet)

The view is incredible, and it's very practical if you want to go to Sakurajima early in the morning. オーナーさん is also very nice and even took the time to chit chat with me, even with my very poor japanese !

“Great place to stay in Kagoshima”
Had previously booked this one too and came back. Still great as ever and the host is super friendly and if you ask her she will give some good tips on what to see in Kagoshima :) There is some language barrier but she will happily help you by using a translator if something is unclear. I recommend the rooms with mountain view as it will make you wake up at morning and see sunrise against Sakurajima.

“Comfortable, basic apartment in amazing location”
We only stayed in Kagoshima for the early morning ferry and this apartment couldn't be better for the ferry port. We were literally there for 12 hours but everything was clean, balcony was a bonus and the view of the active volcano was spectacular.

View was amazing, every morning felt like a dream. The location is close to the port to visit sakurajima. while its close enough to tenmonkan. Plenty of conbinis nearby to. Great location. Rather spacious to for a solo traveller like me.

“Top class service from the lovely host, and fantastic location + views!”
Fantastic host and amazing service! I needed some help making a phone call to my next hotel but I didn’t have the ability to phone Japanese numbers. I asked the host who lives in the building to help me out, and she went above and beyond to help me sort out my next hotel stay which I was having issues with! She phoned them for me, helped me arrange a pickup for the station, and waited for a call back the next day to help me add on dinner options. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without her. We also had some fab conversations and I really enjoyed chatting with her (I speak some Japanese). She was so lovely I would 100% stay here again!! Regarding the property: Gorgeous views of the volcano, amazing location as it’s super close to the ferry port for trips to sakurajima or yakushima, but also very close to the downtown shopping and restaurant district, and a short walk to the team so easy access from the train station! Not only that but it’s right next to a konbini so very convenient for shopping and I was able to do some laundry in the apartment too. The shower and bath room was great too! I slept super well on the bed.

The location was perfect for me, overlooking Sukarajima. The facilities (fridge, microwave, washing machine) were great
