“The best guesthouse for gorilla trekking”

Cilyia, the owner, is very kind and helpful. The room is clean and well equipped, mosquitos net on beds, hot water is available. Location is very nice, cured and the opens space is cozy and comfortable, beers/wines and sodas available on request. Everything is perfect!

The staff, Nelson, Isaac and Benison could not have done more to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thank you so much for your care, attentiveness and company. Nelson you could not have done more for us and Isaac your food was excellent. Benison worked very hard and kept us very well in hot and cold water. The location is excellent. We were not gorilla trekking but it is just up the road from the reception centre. It is a very short walk from the small hub of Ruhija. Our room was spacious and the bed very warm and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again in the future. It was excellent value for money.

Cylia is so friendly and hospitable. I decided to come fairly last minute, and she helped me book a gorilla trekking permit. She also helped me figure out how to get to and from Ruhija from Kabale, which was so helpful. I had an amazing experience, and I'm so glad I stayed here. It's a lovely guest house and I felt very taken care of. Would definitely recommend!

Such a lovely guest house very clean the bed was very comfortable and the views from outside your room are outstanding. Cylia the owner is an incredible lady so kind and very helpful and was always on hand to assist you. She was able to get me a gorilla permit and a chimpanzee permit which I was most grateful for.

A wonderful place with an excellent price-performance ratio. Cylia and her colleague provided some of the best and friendliest service I have ever had and dinner was also great. From the terrace you will have a beautiful view in the morning, the drive to the gorilla trekking site takes about 10 minutes. The basic room I stayed in was clean, had 24h electricity, Wi-Fi (even if you don't need it - there is very good mobile internet in the area) and everything else you may need (including intact mosquito nets). I felt very comfortable here.

“A heart-warming place”

Cylia and all the staff were fantastic and made sure we didn't miss anything! We are two young women and we stayed at the Ruhija Gorilla Guest house for one night and then tracked with the gorillas the next day but we would have stayed longer! Our room was fantastic, spacious, clean and with two big comfortable beds. The dinner they cooked for us was great and Cylia is careful to fulfil your every wish. Before dinner we visited the village (an experience not to be missed) we met the local people and visited the school and the orphanage; all the people are extremely kind. Syria (sp?) is an exceptionally good host on a country where great hosts are the standard. Attentive to every detail, very informative and dedicated to helping both her clients and her local community. Extremely well done!!

The owner was helpful and friendly, she contact me before my trip on whatsapp, and gived good information. The accomodation is a new builded house, beutifull. The breakfast and the dinnervwas tasty a plenty. The accomodation is near the gorilla track meeting point. The owner put the fire to dry the wet shoos for the next day gorilla track. I can recommend the accomodation, Make sure you choose this one
