True "eco" experience. Can't remember when I was closer to the nature. You need to take a boat the get to the island. Stunning views from the restaurant. Quiet life. Friendly staff.

An underrated spot perched on a tiny island, somewhere on the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

One of a kind stay. Mr Friday welcomed me with a warm smile and looked after me the whole stay. Special island - I will be back!

“Simplicity, tranquillity and adventure”

Located on a secluded island, it is an exceptional, unique place where the biggest noise is made by birds. They offer a range of activities in order to keep the busy type entertained. Canoeing and hiking was fun. But so was starring at the lake from my dormitory. Although secluded, it is not hard to reach - by a boda boda from Kabale and a boat. Food - awesome!!! Local dishes prepared by unbeatable Betty, mostly vegetarian but there is also fish in the menu. Very very basic - all the facilities are ecological which means simple.

Byoona Amagara is a magical place. Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing. I had such a nice time staying in the dorm (by myself!). The facilities are great - I enjoyed the outdoor shower, the composting toilet, the hammocks, the dock, and the comfortable common area. The staff is friendly and the food is really nice. There were only 2 other guests when I was there, but I had a lovely time with them. I'd highly recommend.

A unique experience. The property is located on a very beautiful, small island. We were the only guests there, so we really enjoyed the atmosphere and serenity. Lots of beautiful birds around. Would I come back? Yes!

Wonderfully tranquil and beautiful

It's a nice place but be aware that the huts are open and it can get cold at night. You will also wake up early due to sunlight and the sound of birds. Which is nice, but if you need to recover or sleep than this might not be ideal. Just something to be aware of. Great staff, super friendly and helpful.

The place is amazing, surrounded by nature. The people working there are very kind and the food is excellent. Many possibilities for vegetarian people.

“Beautiful”

Stunning views across the lake. Arriving in the dark was a little weird as there are very few lights at night, but waking up to that view was incredible. Staff all lovely and friendly, helping us organise a boat tour and other things. There are no doors to the rooms - we hadn’t realised this until we arrived but it gives it a charm and the mosquito nets round the bed protect you at night. A great stay, thank you

“I wish everybody could stay here”

I wish everybody could spend some nights here! Amazing private hut to stay in with wonderful view. Delicious food at the restaurant, very kind staff. Nice water to swim in. We took a dip multiple times per day!
