Situated in Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden, the Icehotel features rooms entirely made out of sculptured ice from the neighbouring Torne River. Warm rooms are also offered. A bookable sauna experience featuring a sauna, wood-burning hot tub and ice bath is available for a fee. Holding a temperature between -5 to -8 degrees Celsius, the individually themed cold rooms include hand-carved ice furnishings by international artists. Guests sleep in thermal sleeping bags on beds covered in reindeer hides. In the morning, guests can enjoy the shared sauna. All warm rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, dining area, and a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Free WiFi is offered in all rooms. The on-site Icehotel restaurant serves traditional dishes with locally produced ingredients. Guests can relax with hot drinks and snacks in the warm lounge, or enjoy cocktails served in glasses made out of ice in the below-freezing Icebar. Guests can enjoy a complimentary entrance ticket to the Icehotel. The area around the property is popular for outdoor winter activities such as dog sledding, reindeer sled excursions, and snowmobile tours. The staff will also be happy to arrange activities such as river rafting, hiking, and fishing. During summer season, guests will experience midnight sun. In the winter, guests can enjoy northern lights if lucky. The closest airport is Kiruna Airport, 14 km from the property. Bookable shuttle service is available upon request for a fee.

“Bucket list experience”
We had an extraordinary time at the Ice Hotel, although we stayed at one of the warm rooms :) The art and story behind this hotel is astonishing and an experience in itself. Everything is set up to be easy and for you to explore the nature as much as possible. The frozen river, the sledges, the spa overlooking endless snow, but also the availability of proper clothes to enjoy all the activities - make your stay unforgetable. Probably the most packed 3 days vacation we had, but worth every second.

“Overall not too bad”
The space is quite large and very quiet, and the property is also in a great location, close to the reception. The bedding is clean and comfortable, and the mattress is moderately firm with good support. The hotel restaurant serves very fresh ingredients and the food is delicious, making it—apart from the ice rooms—the best experience at the Ice Hotel.

“Shopping trip to Kiruna and had to stay somewhere overnight”
Surroundings and reception staff. We got a good last minute discount deal so we feel that was a fair price for the normal double room.

A very unique experience that you will not find elsewhere. The location is amazing and the art/design is too. The equipment provided to ensure you dont get cold is very good too.

Great was breakfast. The lights in the bedroom didn’t work. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the dining area was clean and comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

“Magical stay in winter wonderland”
We stayed in the warm rooms but have free access to the ice hotel exhibition and bar . Breakfast was good, room is comfortable and clean. Overall it was a great experience. We were lucky to see northern lights 2 nights in a row from hotel

“Incredible stay”
Location, our cabin was really great. Perfect for a family of 4, two bedrooms and small sitting area. Great to have access to the ice museum all the time, access to use snowbooys, overalls etc. Great activities from the hotel. Highly recommend the dog sledge from the hotel. On our last night we even got a beautiful northern light over us.

“Perfect winter wonderland”
Location, our Arctic cabin, free parking, great activities at the hotel (dogsledge) icehotel ice sculpture and we saw a moose walking around our cabin and the beautiful northern lights

“Wow Wow Wow!!!! A Bucket list experience.”
Wow Wow Wow!!!! Amazing from start to finish. All staff were excellent and helpful. Warm rooms were super cosy. Had a microwave, fridge, and kettle.,you would need to bring dish soap/cloth/teatowel as not provided. Fantastic food, breakfast was amazing with lots to pick from. Ate in the hotel one night and the Old Homestead the next, it is expensive for what you get but it was delicious. If you want to eat in your chalet/lodge the Co op is well stocked with ready filled baguettes, soups, Salad containers, microwave meals, fresh bread, fruit and veg , meats, cheese and a good frozen section, the same as a Co op back home. Close to the CO OP for essentials (500m) also walking distance to The Old Homestead restaurant and the Sami centre (950m) The location was stunning and peaceful, and we were treated to a show of the northern lights on 2 occasions. Hotel didn't seem overly busy. I used the sauna a few times and nobody else was in it (towels provided) Slept one night in a 'cold room' in the Ice part, what a phenomenal experience, really cosy in our sleeping bags, mattress was a bit thin (not great if you have a bad back like me) but manageable and it's only one night!! Lots of storage for your luggage between moving rooms and check out times.
