Set by Lake Vuotjärvi, these cottages have a private wood-fired sauna and include access to a jetty and rowing boat. Microwaves, stoves and tea/coffee facilities are standard features. Each cottage has a living room with a TV, sofa and fireplace. Free firewood allows guests to make their stay even cosier. A traditional Finnish laavu hut and BBQ area are available on site. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Tiirantuvat. Bikes, canoes, rowing boats and boats with outboard motors are available for rent. Berry and mushroom picking are popular in the surrounding area. The nearest supermarket is 15 minutes’ drive away, in Juankoski. Tahkovuori Ski Centre is within 45 km.

I love guesthouses like this, owned by a small local family business in the Finnish countryside. Idyllic lakeside location, wood-fired sauna, fireplace, terrace. Despite the fact that the cottage is not brand new, you can see that the owners take good care of it, so that the guests have everything they need for their stay.

Simple cabin that was cool despite hot weather. Had all amenities for simple life. Mobile network had ok speed.

Mäntylä cottage is suitable for longer visit, we stayed there four nights. We enjoyed sunny days, sauna and swimming. The centre of Juankoski is a 11 km drive away. We also visited Pisa Nature Preserve Park and Tahko.

In this place you have all for a perfect Finnish holidays: well-equipped cottage, sauna, lake, boat, barbecue... This was the second year we booked it since we knew it already.

“Wonderful experience.”
Wonderful location. Everything was perfect. Even the lake water temperature was not so cold. For two days we enjoyed the sauna, the lake, the boat, the silence, the landscape... The house is functional and has good privacy. Mrs. Marketta is a very kind host. Good value for money.
