“Warm family stay with great views and genuine hospitality”

This is a family-run place, and that really shows in the way they care for guests. The family is very attentive and genuinely tries to help with everything. When we had issues with our transport (our bus was cancelled), they immediately stepped in to assist, which we really appreciated. They also provided plenty of complimentary water, which was a nice touch. The room itself was good, with nice lighting and decoration, and a cute balcony facing the street. It was also surprisingly quiet. The rooftop is a highlight, offering a great view of the fort and a very relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was simple but homely, and the location is very convenient, within walking distance of many attractions.

When we arrived AJ met us and took us to the hotel. We were already off to a good start. Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The beds were also comfortable and large. The bathroom was a generous size and modern. There was plenty of hot water. Suraj Haveli is a family home with accomodation above. What made it special for us was the family environment. It was much more than staying in a hotel. We were made to feel like part of the family. It was one family having another as guests. Our 14 year old daughter made friends quickly with a young family member her own age and in no time she was on the back of a scooter visiting family friends. AJ couldn't do enough for us. Tips for around the town - which you'll likely need should you not want to buy extremely overpriced textiles and 'antiques'. The breakfasts were great and a great way to start the morning looking over the old town. The Mehrangarh Fort is a 15-20 min walk from the hotel - and it's not the tourist route. You can wander up the backstreet shops this way. As with many places in India I would recommend getting up early for a wander. The narrow lanes of the old town are quiet and you'll find a good chai down near the Clock Tower. I would have no hesitation in telling others to stay here.

Suraj haveli is the perfect combination of the comfort of a hotel with the warmth of a home stay! Ajay and his family were so warm and welcoming during our stay. Ajay shared many local recommendations for restaurants and helped arrange transport to the airport. The Suraj haveli is also perfectly located in the old town so close to everything! During my stay I was unwell and ajay and his family were so helpful bringing me food and water. Next time i am in Jodhpur I will stay there again!

“Nice homely stay.”

I liked the homestay. The people who were managing the homestay were fantastic. They even helped us at the time of distress. The homestay owner stays in the same house and he and his family really helps all the guests to have a comfortable stay. They also guide the guests with all the places to visit. The breakfast was also quite heavy. The fort view from terrace was next level. Our room also had a view of the fort.

The location is absolutely unbeatable! We stayed in a room with a balcony and enjoyed the most stunning view of the fort. The room itself was beautifully designed, full of thoughtful touches like indirect lighting and elegant decorations that made it feel so cozy and special. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing fantastic recommendations for dinner in the old town. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

The rooftop breakfast was phenomenal! The entire family was so generous, kind and hospitable. I was unwell the morning I was meant to depart and AJ arranged for an extra night, rescheduling of my taxi and a hospital visit. I can't thank him enough. You will not meet better people in your travels.

Warm family atmosphere in which I was made very welcome. The room was clean and spacious and well provided for. The roof terrace was comfortable with excellent views of the fort, a great place for breakfast, but also for contemplating early evening. The owners were also very helpful in organising guided tours and transport.

“Perfect traditional stay”

This homestay is a true Gem of Joghur , we are so glad we booked here its a traditional homestay in the heart of the back streets., Fantastic friendly welcome with snacks and water , quirky room , very clean , lovely balcony overlooking the Fort and right in the heart of the blue city. You can't get a cab to the door , but a tuk tuk will take you to a drop off point just 2 minutes away, through the back streets of Jodpur. Which are like any other streets in India... unless you are staying at the Palace . Excellent location for all the attractions and plenty of roof top restaurants near by . We recommend this Gem .

It is a very authentic home stay. The family are extremely welcoming. The furnishings and decorations are attractive and the views from the roof terrace to the fort are absolutely amazing. AJ is such good host and goes the extra mile to ensure that you make the most of your stay. Every type of tour can be arranged. AJ even gave us a lesson on how to make Masala Chai in their kitchen. AJ is a great host and very friendly, we only had a short stay but AJ got everything sorted for us at short notice. Room was lovely with view of fort, shower was hot, bed very comfy and room was a good size. Breakfast Indian style on rooftop overlooking the fort was fantastic. Best of all was that all the family were warm and welcoming which made us feel at home. Lovely place to stay.
