“Best stay with delicious food and great service!”
Beautiful family owned guesthouse with really good food and great service. The host helped me to get a guide to climb the highest mountain in the area. They also organized some traditional music for us!

Shodmon and his family made us feel extremely welcome. The rooms and facilities are clean and the garden is beautiful with lots of shade from trees covered with fresh fruits and a little creek running right through the property. The food was definitely one of the highlights, every meal was prepared with love and care by his sisters. We got to try typical Uzbek/Tajik food you don’t typically find in restaurants. We especially loved the dish with mung beans. The surrounding areas is beautiful for hiking and exploring nearby villages. Shodmon always made sure we were taken care off and helped us organise transport and hikes around the area. This was definitely the best homestay we stayed in!

“Highlight of our trip to Uzbekistan - Beautiful homestay, delicious food, and awesome hiking!”
Amazing time staying with Shodmon and his family at their beautiful homestay in the mountains. We enjoyed amazing food cooked from fresh ingredients from the surrounding area - best food of the trip so far! The rooms are clean, comfortable and most importantly cool! Good wifi also a bonus. We stayed for three nights and Shodmon organised two hikes for us - Fosilmon lake and a hike to see petroglyphs; both were great but Fosilmon was the stand out for us and we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good hike! The guesthouse arranged transfers to and from the guesthouse for us (from Samarkand and to Bukhara) which were seamless. Definitely worth checking out Shodmon’s instagram - https://www.instagram.com/shodmon_guesthouse_?igsh=MWR3ZW5zcDQ4YWJrdA==

“Authentic Hospitality in a Beautiful Natural Paradise”
We had a wonderful stay at this charming family-run guesthouse. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The location is simply idyllic, set right by a river in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains and plenty of hiking opportunities. Both the room and shared bathrooms were clean, and the dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. We truly felt at home here and only wished we could have stayed longer than one night. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy nature and genuine hospitality.

“Lovely friendly guesthouse in the Nuratua Mountains”
We really enjoyed our stay up in the Nuratau Mountains with Shodmon and his family, who are all very friendly and warm. The guesthouse is very clean and in a lovely setting. Breakfast and meals are served on a covered terrace opposite the rooms. Both are copious and tasty! We also enjoyed a guided half-day walk to see a petroglyph with Shodmon's brother. The route took us through a local village and along by a river, where we could see local villagers preparing their land for new crops, and could admire the spring blossoms and views. Recommended!

Fantastic experience at the Muso guest house! The place is beautiful and it's possible to go on some very nice hikes. But especially, the family is amazing! They welcomed us and they were very kind. Shodmon went with us on a walk to see the wild goats. They cooked lunch and dinner for us and the food was delicious! I am sad because we stayed only two nights. The stay was perfect! They also provided us with transportation from Nurata to Bukhara.

“Friendliest hosts in a beautiful location!”
Beautiful location and a more friendly owner is hard to find! Shodman ate dinner with us, told us about the area, took us on a fantastic hike and helped organize our trip back to Samarkand. The food was among the better we had in Uzbekistan.

“Beautiful place”
Beautiful garden, very relaxing place great to chill out or to walk/hike around, nice & helpful owner, thanks for the last day where they helped me to catch a lift, and great thanks to the guide with broken hand who selflessly made a call 2 days earlier:) Definitely recommended if you decide to visit this region

“Beautiful location, friendly hosts, delicious food.”
Muso Guesthouse was such a delightful place to stay to end my 3 weeks in Uzbekistan. It’s set within beautiful surroundings, the host family is lovely and the food was some of the best I’ve experienced in the country. It’s not an easy country to travel on a vegan diet but I ate like a queen at Muso. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area - mountain hikes, petroglyphs, exploring village life and seeing wild mountain sheep. You can choose to explore on your own, which I did, or be guided by one of the family members. Shodmon speaks English well and has lots of tips for making the most of your time. I recommend staying at least 3 nights if you have the time. It’s a lovely change from city travel. Shodmon arranged transport to and from the guesthouse for me at a reasonable price. It was a convenient way to travel. An overall clean, comfortable, friendly place in a beautiful setting with delicious food. I highly recommend.

I've never given a score of 10 before, but this place totally deserved it - Shodmon and his family were amazing. I was sick when I stayed there and they made sure I was okay and comfortable. The guesthouse is in a beautiful green orchard with a stream running through it, and is a delightful place to spend time, as well as all the walks and hikes around. The food is good, with lots of fresh fruit and local produce, and everyone makes sure you have everything you need. There are lots of walking opportunities around, and it would definitely be worth staying more than one or two nights to really enjoy the place. There were no additional charges or pressure to take a guide or go on a tour, so it was a wonderful relaxing place to stay.

This is a lovely guesthouse in the village of Hayat, it’s a perfect stop between the hot cities. The host family, the food and the bedroom are super nice ! There is many options to spend your days, with small or big hikes, or just relaxing in the garden.

“A peaceful and welcoming place that felt just like home”
Staying at Muso Homestay was one of the highlights of my trip. The place is simple but spotless, quiet, and filled with genuine Uzbek hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease — like I was part of the family. The room was clean and comfortable, with fresh sheets, towels, good air circulation, and reliable hot water. Everything was well maintained, and it’s clear that the hosts take pride in keeping the house in order. Shodmon and his family were incredibly kind and respectful. They gave me space when I needed it, but were always happy to help — whether it was with directions, advice on what to see, or just having a friendly chat. Their hospitality felt real, not something they put on for tourists. Breakfast was one of my favorite parts. Every morning, they served a generous homemade spread: eggs, fresh bread, fruits, several kinds of jams, honey, tea, and more. It wasn’t fancy, but it was full of flavor and heart — the kind of food you’d get in a real home, not a hotel. The homestay is located in a beautiful green area surrounded by mountains. It’s peaceful, with fresh air and birds singing in the morning. If you enjoy nature and walking, this place is a dream. There’s even a chance to see wild mouflons (mountain sheep) nearby if you go for a hike — an unexpected and unforgettable experience. Wi-Fi was reliable and worked well in the room — enough for messages, emails, and basic browsing. Overall: If you're looking for a clean, peaceful place with beautiful nature and truly warm, down-to-earth people — Muso Homestay is perfect. I felt safe, well taken care of, and completely at peace. I would absolutely come back.

“One of the best homestay experiences I’ve ever had.”
We had a wonderful time at this homestay. The hosts were incredibly warm and friendly — always ready to help and making sure we felt at home. Their hospitality was sincere and made our stay special. The food was one of the best parts — homemade, fresh, and full of traditional flavors. Every meal felt like it was prepared with care and love. Breakfasts were generous, and dinners were delicious and satisfying. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-kept. The beds had fresh linens, and everything was neat and tidy. The bathrooms and toilets were spotless, which made our stay even more pleasant. The place is surrounded by calm nature, with fresh air and a peaceful atmosphere — perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It’s ideal for anyone looking to experience true local hospitality, great food, and a quiet environment. Highly recommended.

“A Slice of Paradise — With a Few Shadows”
The guesthouse is nestled in a small village in the Uzbek mountains, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. What we loved most was the peaceful garden atmosphere — there are plenty of cozy spots to relax and take it all in. A gentle stream runs right through the property, adding a soothing soundtrack of trickling water. During our stay, we were even allowed to pick fresh cherries straight from the trees. In short: pure paradise! The rooms are traditionally furnished, as you’d expect from a guesthouse. We stayed in a triple room as a pair, so there was plenty of space. The beds are quite firm — and the pillows could be compared to concrete — but surprisingly, we still slept well! The electricity was stable, there was occasional Wi-Fi (note: mobile data with Ucell doesn’t work here), and the shared bathroom was reasonably clean. There were two large groups staying at the same time, so the odd hair in the shower wasn’t unexpected and didn’t bother us. Lunch and dinner are available for $8 per person, and there aren't really any alternative dining options in the village — but that’s part of the charm :-) The location is ideal for hiking, with a nature reserve home to mouflons just 500 meters away. Be sure to bring sturdy footwear, as some trails are quite steep and require a steady step. What stood out most was the warmth of the host family. Even without speaking English, they made communication possible. We shared meals, conversations, and even dancing! Even the youngest family members pitched in to help. We felt truly welcome and at home throughout our stay. Until that point at least.
