“The best balcony views in Jinja. A wonderful place with lovely staff!”

Gorgeous! Each balcony has a view of the lake surrounded by incredible plants and butterflies. I spent a long time on my balcony sofa enjoying the view. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Food was excellent, particularly the chips and guac. It’s walking distance to Jinja’s cafes too. I was even gifted a ride to the local taxi park. A really fabulous place.

“Amazing！”

Ms. Hope, the receptionist there, was such a nice person. She was very kind, warm-hearted, and polite. On the first day, I arrived at the cottage just before the check-in deadline, completely soaked from a sudden heavy rain and lightning. She told me, “You don’t need to pay today. You can pay tomorrow morning. Please just get some rest as soon as possible.” It was a wonderful start to my stay at this cottage. The place is surrounded by the Nile River and beautiful nature. The breakfast is also very good, with a lovely view and atmosphere. If you go there, you will be able to truly relax and get a complete break from your work.

“Great place”

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need. It has a great terrace with a beautiful view of Lake Victoria. The beds are comfortable, the shower has hot water, and there's a nice restaurant with a great view and very good food. We received a very warm welcome and were very well looked after throughout our stay. The service was very friendly and always available. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice view of the Lake Victoria

Let's start with the location. It is not so far away from the town. If you're up for a 30-minute walk or less, this is doable. When you get in to compound there's a sense of relaxation and warmth. The views are stunning, the rooms feel homey, and the decor is light, portraying comfort. The staff are polite and helpful. I did not experience any issues here. The restaurant, too, was awesome with a good view of the river. The food was delicious and fresh and pocket friendly. Overall, I'd go back here any day just to chill away from hectic day to day.

David and the team were very welcoming ! Even Bruce the cat was super friendly. It was absolutely beautiful place to stay, the staffs were so nice and the food was amazing ! Definitely a must stay place.

“Amazing stay in a relaxing oasis!”

This place was amazing. The hosts made our stay personal and comfortable. The location is out of the way for peace and quiet but still a short drive to the centre. Rooms were spacious and very clean.

We absolutely loved our stay at Home on the Nile. We stayed for four nights. The view from the balcony is just amazing. The owner, David, was very friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of useful recommendations for things to do in Jinja. The staff were all incredible. Hope provided us with fantastic service every morning. She even learned off our breakfast orders. The food was incredible too. Some of the best food we had in Uganda. Jessica made us lovely cocktails every night too. Great service all round. Also really appreciated the French press coffee in the room.

“Relaxing, pretty and friendly.”

This is a small friendly outfit, very laidback. Nice rooms with lovely big balcony overlooking Lake Victoria, and i do appreciate the proper coffee available in the rooms. Good cook makes excellent dinner.

The rooms were very spacious and clean, friendly staff. And David was very helpful and informative. And the best part was the view right infront of the Nile. It definitely the best place to stay in Jinja.

The place provided the breakway city experience infused with natural beauty scenary of lake victoria and green vegetation. Very comfortable beds and rustic rooms.

I liked the fact that even after receptionist making a mistake of a double booking, the boss (name I forget) contacted me apologising and he requested to book me elsewhere. Time he called it was late for me to rethink about travel/ travel plans. Never the less I appreciated his kindness.
