“Wonderfully peaceful stay on the shores of Lake Victoria”

I don't often give a 10 score, but I really liked this place; from being able to enjoy my morning coffee overlooking Lake Victoria, to the bar / restaurant serving tasty meals at a decent price. David the owner and the staff were helpful and friendly and great hosts, I will definitely be back next time I'm in Uganda.

“Outstanding stay”

The whole experience in Jinja was great and the hotel was the best part. The Hemingway Suite surpassed expectation and the views from the comfort of the balcony were outstanding! The food and service was first class. I felt very welcome. Highly recommend the hotel if you are staying in Jinja.....don't hesitate! Thank you to David and all the staff!

This place was exactly what I needed to unwind from the city's chaos. The serene surroundings, beautiful night views & peaceful ambience made for the perfect getaway. The room was cozy & well maintained, offering ultimate comfort. The host, David, was warm, welcoming & attentive, ensuring a truly relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was overall good and the location is safe and nice view on the river Nile.

This should rather be named, "Gem on the Nile" - a stunning location, with spacious suites overlooking the river, with a really great dining area/bar! The owner, David, could not have been more welcoming, and a high standard of hospitality was also offered by all of the staff, every one gracious and friendly. The food was of an equally high standard: we ordered fish (tilapia) and it was cooked to perfection. Home on the Nile defines Value for Money - it offers a lot, for much less than many of the other accommodations that we stayed at during our Ugandan travels, whilst offering a similar high standard.

The apartment is luxuriously spacious and surrounded by green. It has a roof terrace with an amazing view over lake Victoria and the historically important port for the ferry connecting to Kizumu and from there by train to Mombasa. The owner was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again!
