The owner moved me to another hotel in the group, the Eyal Hotel, without charging me more. So I definitely did get good value - it was also in a better location.

The hotel is in an excellent location just off Jaffa Street, close to shops, cafes etc. The room was superb and the staff friendly and helpful.

I was treated poorly by the front desk staff. He was quite rude and unprofessional — he even suggested I go to another hotel because he didn’t want to come and open the door for me.

It was a great experience. This is not the first time we have stayed at hotel by Smart Hotels. This time we booked Jerusalem Inn hotel, but we were upgraded to Eyal hotel, so here is my review about the Eyal hotel. We did not regret staying at the hotel for a second. The location is excellent, in the very center of the city and, to be honest, I do not understand when someone lower the hotel rating because it was supposedly noisy - firstly, it was not noisy! Secondly, you book a hotel in the city center, a minute's walk from the pedestrian zone, shops and restaurants, if you want silence - book outside the city. And I was also surprised by the bad review of the hotel because of the garbage collection at 6 am - all over Israel garbage is collected at 5-6 am, hotel can not be blamed for this. In general, it was not noisy for us, we knew that we were staying in the heart of the city and nothing bothered us. The room was wonderful, clean, spacious enough, with a small balcony. It was incredibly pleasant to go out onto the balcony in the morning and breathe in the magical Jerusalem air. The bed linen and towels were snow-white, the mini cosmetics were of high quality. We also liked the breakfast, there was enough food for every taste. Conclusion: we really liked it and we will be happy to come back again.
