“Friendly hotel with a great restaurant.”

First impression was that the room was cool, even though it was 30 degrees plus outside, which was nice. Nice sized room with a balcony. Wood floor. The staff made you feel at home, and made for a very relaxed stay. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent. The service was attentive, and the potion sizes were well judged, not too big and not too small. Stand out were the perfect egg starter and beef main course. Cheeses were local and well contrasting. Impressed by the wines by the glass list which included a special edition Maury blended from three old vintages and a Gros Manseng from the south west, commonly seen in blends like Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh. Had a good chat with the sommelier about these and some of the more obscure red options as well. The pool was a nice size and temperature. Did not have the optional breakfast. Plenty of parking.

We stopped here because we were between more urban destinations. I say this because we’re not really mountain-decor people. If you like that style - wood paneling, deer antlers, dark corridors - then you will appreciate this place as it is an attractive building and they did a nice job with the rooms. The restaurant is a different story - avoid that at all costs!!! Not kidding!!!

Set in a lovely village with its own vibe, spatious spotless rooms with a nice view, upscale service and facilities.

Exceptional level of service from the owner, extremely warm greeting, allowed an early check-in, great shower and comfortable bed. I left too early to take breakfast.

Lovely place, with lots of quality stuff around. Nice garden bar(+ covered pool & gym which we didn’t use) Dressing gowns etc. Ate in the restaurant, which was quite expensive, but you got what you paid for. Great views of the mountain from our table . Lovely meal. Same with breakfast - not cheap, but that’s because it wasn’t - great food, great choices. Jovial owner and staff

“Wonderful stay in a beautiful villa.”

This is a characterful hotel set in one of the famous ‘Mexican villas’ of the Ubaye valley. Our room, in the annex, was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring our stay went without a hitch. The bar is novel, set outside in the shade of a large tree which must be delightful in the summer. Dinner was outstanding, one of the best meals of a high quality tour, and was matched by breakfast. There is oodles of secure parking.

Great situation. Lovely quiet room. Great meal. And excellent wine list. Plus safe parking. Patron is a character.

The barman was great, infact all the staff were great and very helpful. The restaurant was exceptional and apparently once had a michelin star.

Beautiful property set in lovely grounds in a quiet village. Wonderful breakfast outdoors enjoying the gardens. Warm welcome. Large room. Comfy bed. Tea/Coffee making facilities appreciated.
