Overview
Situated in the Himos Valley, next to Lake Patalahti and 10 minutes’ drive from Jämsä, Himoshovi offers cottages with private saunas and fully equipped kitchens. West Himos Ski Centre is 300 metres away. Himoshovi’s spacious cottages feature a dining area and a seating area with fireplace. Entertainment facilities include a flat-screen TV and CD player. All cottages offer views of the surrounding countryside. Himoshovi Cottages guests have access to facilities at nearby Himos Hotel, which include a smoke sauna, a children’s playground and a tennis court. Wi-Fi is free in common areas, and free public parking spaces are found on site. The staff can help guests book ski lessons, bicycle rentals, hiking trips and other activities. Within a few minutes’ walk of the Himoshovi Cottages are several restaurants, a nightclub and a grocery store.

We wanted to check in at 4:00 PM, as stated in the information and also confirmed in the message we received the day before. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told that we could not check in at 4:00 PM but only at 6:00 PM because they had a “Ski Holiday” event taking place. We had not received any information about this and were very disappointed. We were told that there was nothing they could do and that they did not know why Booking sends out such information (even though it is their responsibility to ensure that guests receive correct information). We had to change our clothes in the parking lot so that we could go to the slopes, which was very uncomfortable. We spent time on the mountain until 6:00 PM, then called and were informed that the accommodation was finally ready. When we entered the house, we saw that they had forgotten a floor mat on top of one of the beds. The kitchen cabinets were covered in stains, the cupboards were dirty, and the drawers were full of crumbs and debris. The sofa was dirty and stained. The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows and blankets were very old and uncomfortable as well. Considering that this is not inexpensive accommodation, the condition and cleanliness should be much better. In addition, there are no kitchen towels provided. You must bring all towels yourself or rent them for 16 euros. When I wrote to the host requesting some kind of compensation for the delayed check-in and the unclean conditions, I have not received any response to this day. We were not satisfied with the accommodation and do not wish to stay there again.

“Perfect location for perfect mini holiday!”
Perfect location, right by the slopes. Everything you need is there. Even a palju was there - would be good to advertise this so we can rent it, too ;)

Almost everything was perfect. When we arrived we have had an earlier check in. Location is perfect, in the cottage we had everything we need.
