An excellent stay from start to finish. The host is exceptional—proactive, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful, even answering questions we didn’t think to ask. For example, they assisted with arranging a rental car, which made our trip much smoother. The location is within easy driving distance of the capital, which is very convenient, while still being peacefully set in the middle of nature. The property itself is comfortable and beautifully maintained. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the WiFi is fast and reliable.

Banana Tree Lodge is very new, fully equipped and very clean. The landlord is very welcoming. Debbie personally sent the car to the airport. Rich contacted me enthusiastically every day, told me what to pay attention to, and suggested where to travel, just like a good friend.

Everything was excellent! Owners help me with everything on the house. And help me with arranging visiting of the local famous places

Banana Tree Lodge is absolutely lovely. It is a little drive outside of Jamestown but it is a wonderful place to stay to explore Saint Helena. Richard and Debbie were absolutely wonderful and so kind. Absolutely five starts and I will be staying there again.

lovely view and location - such friendly helpful hosts and neighbours busing into town was a breeze and Colin the taxi man was only ever a minute away

This felt like a ‘home away from home’ with everything we needed. The location is tucked up on the hill and was an ideal base for our daily hikes all over the island. We appreciated all the small touches that made us feel welcome, including the scrabble board we availed ourselves of in the evening, as we sipped unique, locally sourced artisanal gin. It helped the aching muscles after conquering ‘Jacobs Ladder’. We’ve never met such friendly but unobtrusive people anywhere, starting with the taxi driver, Colin, who the owner arranged to pick us up at the airport. He kindly took us to a supermarket to pick up supplies and orientated us to the island. Matt at the tourist information centre in town was great to talk to - would suggest going there early in the week to see the open hours of the main attractions over the coming week, so you don’t miss anything. A visit to the nearby Plantation House to see Jonathan the oldest living land creature in the world, is a must! The home is also close to the Lemon tree valley post box walk.
