“Beautiful place but service and price for what you get not quite up to scratch”

A big one from me sorry and usually I promise I’m not a moaner)….. This hotel is stunning and amidst paradise. Honestly on par with the Maldives for the view and white beaches and food - the fresh fish caught daily is delicious. The staff we come across during our short stay were nice. Some more friendly than others. Doreen/Modesta and Mwieilili are super friendly always asking how you are. If you walk left along the beach you will reach paje in about 45 minutes walk (10 min tuk tuk 5 USD) - there are lots of cool beach bars along here and if you turn right there are a few bars within a few minutes from sherazad. Totally safe at night too though put your torch on as it is dark but the milky way and almond bar/restaurant has music on in the background so a nice change as sherazad lacks entertainment or even any background music so there is zero ambiance! The jetty bar is a 6 min walk left on the beach out the hotel and is stunning for sunset - highly recommend. We did enjoy our stay but do not think the full board is worth £400 per night. Full board does not include drinks which is fine as they are not expensive maybe around 4/5 usd a wine and same for a beer. The Sauvignon wine, however, is not good, it was like a dark gold colour and tasted awful so if your a sauvy b kinda gal I’d steer clear otherwise all was good re cocktails soft drinks etc. the fresh pineapple / mango juices are special. What did annoy me is that drinking water is chargeable - this should be standard on every table and I was shocked when I realised we’d been getting charged for it! If you go along to other bars on the beach they automatically give you cold drinking water which is not charged you will simply be charged for your other drinks which is how it should be. Also note that some seafood is an extra charge too if you are full board like the platters etc but lots of daily catches are included within full board which is great and still plenty of options.

We were made to feel welcome from our first arrival at this charming beachside boutique hotel. The grounds are very attractively laid out with meandering paths to the rooms, plenty of pool side or beach spots to choose from and the restaurant either overlooking or on the beach. Entertainment at night was varied and excellent. The staff were always accessible and responsive. We were sad to leave this particular corner of Paradise and highly recommend to others.

Great location on the beach but set back so not constantly hassled from Locals. Delicious food, particularly the Christmas Day buffet, and excellent evening entertainment over Christmas period. Lovely pools

“Dream holiday in Paradise”

Loved absolutely everything. It exceeded our expectations by miles. The vastness of the property, the abundance of places to relax, the comfort of the rooms, the design and decor, the cleanliness, the hospitality… Everything was simply AMAZING!

“In case of problems, don't expect the solution”

I experienced serious issues with the water supply. First, there was no cold water at all—only extremely hot water coming from the tap, which made it impossible to take a shower. Shortly afterwards, the water stopped completely, with no water available at all. This happened days before departure, and they fixed in couple of hours. Unfortunately the same happened in the morning of the departure I immediately informed the reception (6:45 am). Since I was leaving for the airport shortly (7:45) and urgently needed to take a shower before my departure, I asked whether they could bring a key to another room so I could use the bathroom there. The staff was aware of my situation and the time pressure. I even called them, after sending the message, so I was sure, they understand. Instead of providing help, I received only a message after about 15 minutes later saying “sorry for the inconvenience.” No solution was offered, and no one came to assist me. When I checked out and asked why no help had been provided, the staff did not respond—they simply stayed silent and looked away. This level of service was extremely disappointing and far below what any guest should expect, especially in such a basic and urgent situation.

We had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel in Zanzibar: intimate and cozy, with direct access from the room to the beach, unforgettable breakfasts and dinners by the ocean, kind and attentive staff, and the option to practice yoga, all set on a magnificent stretch of white, powdery sand that keeps you close to the real local vibe.

The meals are really good and the beach stunning.

I liked that the property is very peaceful and has pleasing spaces throughout the property. It is also near to Paje which was preferable for me with a scooter. The beach is very peaceful with minimal crowds and vendors. The dining area was very nice as it is an open space. The room that I had was in front of a pool and it was also nice. Very spacious and maintained and cleaned daily. Also I liked that the spaces had a balanced layout for plants and trees.

“Perfect little resort in paradise”

Everything about this resort is special. The rooms are super comfy (very comfy soft mattress) with lots of space. The resort itself is spread out so each person can have their own quiet space to relax at, the pools are beautiful but what stands out at this place is the most amazing food.. tje standard and quality of every meal was amazing, we loved every dish and every meal was a treat and different and we stayed 6 nights and still didn't get to try everything and that was on full board. The staff are super friendly and kind (big thanks to Lisa and Doreene in the restaurant) and all the other staff work hard to make the resort run effortlessly.. our honeymoon treats which very much appreciated and enjoyed so thank you for making our special occaison even more special.

We had an absolutely delicious time at Sharazad Boutique hotel on the beach! The location is perfect, right on the white sand beach, and you can walk to many restaurants and bars nearby. Having said that, we enjoyed many delicious dinners at the restaurant - especially their crab pasta and grilled seafood. The whole team is extremely attentive and warm, and caring - making our stay even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to the fabulous Jackie and her team at the restaurant, their joy and attention to service is so precious. You all made our honeymoon extra special, we can't wait to be back!

“Amazing hotel to relax”

This is a wonderful hotel! From the moment I stepped in the staff have been very attentive and friendly. Farid was very attentive when I arrived, he offered a refreshing welcome drink (a marvelous hibiscus juice!!), patiently showed me all the property and even though I arrived earlier than expected, they allowed me to check-in early with no cost! The room is super comfortable and quiet, beautiful, warm (and because of that they have a fan in the room and another one in the bathroom, and if you need they can provide another one). My room was beautifully located in front of the pool, which provided me an amazing view of the pool and the very well cared garden. By the way, the garden is amazingly beautiful throughout all the property, which creates a peaceful environment in every space. During all my time at Sharazad I didn't even feel the need to go out because this property has amazing facilities and a lot of places to relax and enjoy the breeze, the view, the garden, the pools, the hammocks, the sunbeds, and also they have a wellness center, a yoga space and an activity centre, all of them with amazing staff! The vietnamese restaurant is also an awesome add on with amazing food. I loved how the property is looking towards the environment, as they don't have air conditioners, and they reuse bottles to provide water to every room and they transform other bottles to glasses with they use to serve the juice at breakfast, and as centre pieces for the tables at the Vietnamese restaurant. Absolutely loved the details in every corner of the hotel!!

“Relaxing stay in a beautiful Hotel”

As it is small and cozy hotel then eating( also breakfast) is a la carte and kitchen is really good, coffee is good and restaurant seating area(outdoors only) provides relaxing views. Nice choice of wines and cocktails served from glass like tableware even at the pool/beach area. Local "salesman" are polite enough and not too many, they are also kept away from Hotel territory. Two hotels share same facilities but remain a boutique quality. Staff is friendly and helpful. Trips are organized even with with short notice. Nearby at the beach also many other eating places, which we did not visit as hotel restaurant provides variety of good quality food (probably not always cheapest choice in the jambiani beach) Rooms are spacious and bed was good. You can use either fan or AC. Nice touch with complimentary beach bag and hats for use during your stay. Excellent wifi in rooms and outdoor areas. Beautiful outdoor areas, with lot of sunbeds, swings and seating areas. Small pools are with good temperature. Electricity outage is rather regular, but this is more about country than hotel maybe.
