“Wonderful stay in Zanzibar”

I'm very pleased with my second stay at this wonderful place. The biggest advantage is having a separate cottage! In addition: - very friendly and helpful owners and staff, - excellent service, - intimate and safe place right next to an uncrowded beach, - great location, allowing for miles of walks along the beaches in both directions, - delicious breakfasts and dinners, - absolutely clean, free of mosquitoes and other insects, - quiet, - many tours available around Zanzibar Thank you very much for the lovely stay!

Check in was decent but it looked like they were lacking social skills and english. Location is near good vibes on the beach and friendly locals. Beach boys are the only problem. You cant relax in peace because always they want to make some business. Bargirls are friendly but pole pole and lacking english some of them. They never understand us right what we want to order. They dont earn enough money, so I understand them. So the owner just want max profit and workers are paid minimum same as everywhere. They should pay them more but so many staff and they just stand around and do nothing. In Europe they would fire me, if I would be like that. I understand pole pole and its a nice that they give a chance people to earn some money but they should train them! They hardly understand english and they cant convert money from USD to € or even they national curency ( they had big problems and even charged me 7000 more in shilling as daily rate) for two smoothies on the tuesday. At the end when we checked out they brought a bill and said that we didnt pay smoothies from tuesday. We were shocked because we always pay upfront and always tip workers!! I payed in tanzanian shilling when I ordered two drinks and even gave a lady tip of 10.000 shillings (total 40k). We were sad because they were so unorganisized and I felt really sad after 3 good days we spend there. Place is without windows and without proper door. So couples watch out. Mediana age is for eldery 60+! There is no proper privacy. Cleaning ladies are always watching around if you are in the room and they want to make you a net and spray for insects even if you didnt want the first day. Mosqitues can come inside easily. There are termites and ants everywhere in the wood and shower is very slipery, so watch out eldery. Im young and I almost felt when I slipped with flip flops. They spray the room but at first cleaning lady turned every light on, then she opened the doors and let even more of them inside.

Conveniently located near the beach with a stunning pool. The upper-floor restaurant offers incredible views while dining. The meals are decent and satisfying. The staff was exceptional, always attentive and offering random snacks throughout the day. They also arrange excursions for you.

Rustic, charming, beautiful decor, attention to cleanliness.. polite, kind management and staff always on hand but not in your way.. loft above dining/lounge has the most incredible views and a lovely place to relax. Pool is spotless. A really well maintained property. Quiet and relaxing. If you want loud music and activities this is not the place for you. The quietness is almost unnerving initially until you start appreciating the sounds of nature and the ocean. Please walk out at low tide to the reef. It is like a mini ocean in itself you can swim in. Room is small but not cramped and comfortable. Such a special property. I was sad to leave. Feels a little like stepping back in time.

beautiful hotel right on the beach. swimming pool overlooking the ocean. peaceful and quiet. only 10 bungalows for couples. all the staff are very friendly. from the general manager and front office to restaurant staff. they do everything for a comfortable stay of the guests. many thanks for the opportunity to relax at night after the flight without available room. very tasty food in the restaurant. everything I've tried is delicious. service at a high level. food can be ordered even on a sun beds. rooms are clean. there are comfortable terraces where you can spend time. my holiday was wonderful😍

Beautiful small 10 bungalows hotel, extremely clean and with good food and juices (at very reasonable prices). Very peaceful environment, ideal if you want to completely disconnect and relax as there is no option for a evening walk besides along the beach. Good pool, very enjoyable and useful due to the tides. Hotel staff very friendly and kind.

“Definitely worth a stay.”

We liked the close location to the beach and how the property was set up. The bungalows were smaller than expected based on the pictures but were cleaned twice a day which was amazing. We felt super welcomed. The staff was friendly at all times but could improve their English to help with better communication.

Staff made it a great stay. Room was basic but perfect for a short stay. The beach is right there which is amazing. The pool was also great. Food generally was good!

Amazing spot, WiFi was brilliant, plugs outside on the balcony so you can charge phones and laptops, very clean. Staff were great so friendly. Pool amazing and they have great music playing in the background. Amazing value for money

“Hakuna Matata stay in Jambiani!”

Wonderful and blissful place to stay in Zanzibar. It so peaceful and worry-free to stay at Nur Beach Hotel. Rooms are spaceful, clean and nice. Staff is great and helping with literally everything. Nice pool and easy access from stairs into the ocean. The location in our opinion was superb because you could visit next door hotels (or any other hotels around) anytime you wanted - one has daily yoga classes, second has massage rooms and wider choice of menu. You can also walk to Paje by foot through the shoreline - takes approx 1.5h land come back by taxi (cost between 10 -15k shillings). At the time of writing this review and staying already in Nungwi I can honestly say that we should have stayed in Jambiani instead and skip Nungwi... Will definitely come back next time!
