Nothing, pre viewed the place,. Complete and utter dump. I won't let my dog live there Never mind my family. Nothing what the pictures showed on booking. Com. I demanded my money back, not a penny back, booking. Com offered zero support to the situation

A place with authenticity and a beautiful local feel where you can walk on white sand and live in a hut made of leaves. It has a separate bathroom and a lovely veranda where you can have your breakfast whenever you wake up. Only a few seconds away from the beach, very quiet, all you hear is the distant sound of the sea. Polite staff and especially Hassan with his incredibly delicious freshly cooked food, the best I tasted in all of Tanzania, his happy bongo flavour music and his engaging tour around the village he grew up in!

Kim the owner is SUPER nice. He is definitely the main attraction of the property. He can show you around the island and goes out with you as well. The food is really good too and I met cool people staying there. Prices are super affordable for tours and food.

“Home from home”
We just liked everything, when you want a personal stay with the tides and the vibes then stay with Kim and his amazing family. Their food is to die for and any requests isn't a problem. The neighborhood is also a big 10 meet the friendly locals and have a game off Poolbillard just 50 meters from Kasuku. Beach is at 1 min..walk and we loved it . Thank you Kim , Hassan and staff for giving us the feeling of being most welcome. We left after 1 week with trees in our eyes . Definitely come back to you very soon .

“Amazing place”
We stayed a few days in this lovely place in the quiet town of Jambiani on the east coast. We booked the hut upstairs, which was so great. We had our own veranda and bathroom. Kim, his brother Hasan and his staff are so friendly and helpful. Kim arranged interesting tours for us. Let him tell you about his plastic project! The vibe of this easygoing place is amazing. Food is terrific, made from what’s available, juices are great, breakfast also and at any time you wish. We recommend the Jambiani tour with Adam, which gives you great insight in village life. Located just about 150 meters from the beach, you can enjoy swimming to the max. At low tide you can take a walk along the beach. Looking for a special place, away from the hectic tourist area’s: look no further!

The staff were amazing, they were so happy to help with any questions we had. Anytime we sat out in the restaurant we got given crips or juice and it really made us feel at home. The breakfast included was also incredible and great value for money.

“Best place to stay in Jambiani”
I am lucky enough to have stayed at many of the best hotels in the world, from the Ritz in London, to the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and many more. But Katsuku Villa in Jambiani, Zanzibar, not only rivels the best, but often supasses them in many areas, although the accomodation is basic the rooms are clean and comfortable, and it is literaly a 30 seconds walk to the beach. But it is the freindlyness and approachabilty of the staff (nothing is too much trouble), you really feel like it is your home. Kim, the owner and his staff group could not provide better or freindlier service. But the true pearl in the crown is the wounderful fresh seafood served from the kitchen, ranging from authentic Zanzibar offerings to Swahile and indian style cooking. Exellent. Although there are many more prodigious hotels on the east coast, non are more freindy or serve such good food. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you truly want to sample life in Zanzibar, Katsuku Villa is a must.

“All reputation, zero substance”
Perhaps you have to be here in the peak of high season for all the excellent reviews to make sense. it’s a sweet place with a hippy vibe in a good location right by the beach, but beyond that, it leaves much to be desired. staff hang out all day in the main courtyard (Kim’s Restaurant) looking disinterested, rooms are pretty bleak and unbearably hot (there’s also nowhere to hang anything), and the bright, characterful murals and communal decor is in stark contrast to the complete lack of enthusiasm shown by everyone (other than Kim — who was very nice, but seems to spend very little time there other than the occasional brief drop in). All signs for the restaurant also announce that there is free wifi (which most basic guesthouses on Zanzibar offer, even if it’s only in the communal areas). I asked about the wifi several times — at first staff just fobbed me off with ‘not now’. When we had dinner at Kim’s, they finally (grudgingly) switched it on for an hour, then immediately turned it off when we went back to our room. Having been bowled over by the welcoming, friendly, interesting people in Zanzibar — and everywhere else I have stayed there — Kasuku Villas was an unpleasant surprise.

“Food, hospitality, atmosphere, location, peace and calmness”
Kasuku Villa is one of a kind! Besides the bestest and freshest food in the Jambiani/Page area (the restaurant's menu therefore varies, depending on what Nature has just provided), it offers personalized rooms and a charming terrace with lovely wall paintings. Kim and his team are amazing! Kasuku is the sea of tranquility right next to the Indian Ocean. This time it was our farewell place in Zanzibar, but next time we'll make sure it's our starting point. Can't wait! Asante sana :)
