I liked the view to the sea as well as hospitality from the side of the host and all the workers. The breakfast was heavenly! We really had great time with my friend and also got a lot of peace as there was no one in the room next to ours.

Amka House is in a wonderful location, not directly to the beach but very close. From our terrace, we could see the sea and feel the breeze. The room was large, clean and very nicely furnished. Isai and his team are very friendly and helpful, so we had a wonderful time and wish to come again!

“Wonderful and peaceful”

I had the most amazing stay at Villa Amka, Issa and Amina are the best hosts you can imagine. The accomodation is gorgeous, very clean and comfortable, the terrace with sea view is breathtaking, located 30seconds to the beach, you can hear waves and birds singing. Breakfast is delicious, they take care to bring it to your terrace when you wake up. If you’re looking for a place to have rest and be at peace, Villa Amka is the perfect location for you.

The host was great and very helpful. He booked us great trips, offered support and great lunch. Location of the house is beautiful looking into the ocean through coconut palms. Staff was very welcoming.

“Perfect Location”

Amka House is a perfect place for independent travelers like us. The rooms are really nice and the wonderful breakfast, brought to our terrace in the mornings, included coffee/tea, fresh juice, fruits, eggs, bread and crêpes. Amka House is not first row, but so close to the beach that you can just go barefoot in your swimming suit. Some rooms have sea view. The beach just in front is suitable at high and low tide (you just go further to the sand bank). There are no sun beds, but in the afternoon you can sit in the sand in the shadow from the palm trees and watch the local kids swimming and playing football. There are bars just in front, too. The village: This part of Jambiani just behind the Amka House is a local Tanzanian village with some infrastructure like little souvenir shops and local restaurants with meals for decent prices starting at 10.000 TZS (if you don't want to pay the beach front). People are very friendly, and there are also plenty of little "supermarkets" to buy water, fruits, etc. You can walk 5min to the main road and take a Daladala (the common shared mini buses) and go for 500 TZS to Paje (or take a local Tuktuk for 5-7000 TZS) or 3000 TZS to Stone Town (Stone Town can take 2 hours though and you need to change Daladala). We also made our way from the airport to Amka House with the Daladala. If you are more into organized transport, the owner of Amka House Isaa is happy to arrange everything for you! He is very friendly and speaks good English and can also organize excursions for you to visit the island. Overall: Being locked in a "resort" would be a nightmare for us, so we found exactly what we were looking for at Amka House - the mix of comfort and local life at a wonderful beach.

A very good experience so good we stayed extra time! The rooms are well.decorated and the cleanest Hotel we stayed in during out trip. We had 2 lovely balcony rooms with tables and chairs anf benches and a view of the ocean. The breakfast brought by Ramadan was excellent . I asked him if they had papaya and next day he served me papaya for breakfast . Thank you Ramadan. Very nice .
