“Great Stay in Jaffna”

Ravi's guests house proved to be an excellent choice for our 4 days in Jaffna. This 1950's house is in a very gracious style with high ceilings, large rooms and a large reception/lounge area; decoration is in a simple classical style. A possible bonus of the high ceilings and solid construction is the fact the house is suprisingly cool to the extent we did not have to run our room's air conditioning. The bed and bedlinens were very comfortable. The house is located in a very quiet area with no dogs barking, no roosters crowing and no traffic noise. From a tourists perspective, Jaffna, and it's surrounding area are a bit of an unknown, but we found it to be a sprisingly interesting trip with a lot of history. Both of us are glad we made the effort to drive up to Jaffna and extremely happy with our stay at Ravi's Dayanithi Guest House.

“A nice, small boutique hotel in Jaffna if you are looking for convenience and value for money.”

The breakfast, included in the room charge, was very good. We stayed for eight days and every day, the Chef Ruban served us a different menu. All freshly made Tamil cuisine. Loved it. The Manager Ravi is very helpful and was always available with useful information. The location is also good.Very close to KKS Road where there were many small eateries and shops. Excellent location for public transport. The Maruthanarmadam Public market is closeby where you could buy many kinds of fresh local fruits.

One of the cleanest and most comfortable places we stayed during our travels around Sri Lanka. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and polite, making us feel right at home. The room was spacious with comfortable bed. Sri Lankan breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also appreciated having access to the kitchen fridge and the reliable Wi-Fi. Jaffna turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our trip — such a hidden gem! Highly recommended!

“NOT professional staff.”

The family room door was NOT there; shown on pictures ONLY. I asked and they changed it. Overall an average stay. Host kept asking about money. He was a bit insecure; don’t know why! I think host need to be more professional and forthcoming.

It was a real pleasure to stay at this guest house. Clean and spacious room. Peaceful location. Ravi was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We used their bike to visit nearby sights. Definitely will visit again.

“A Wonderful Place”

We received a warm welcome, truly capturing the Sri Lankan spirit. Ravi made us feel at home, being very attentive and even let us use the kitchen as needed. Ruben, the chef, made mouthwatering dishes which all of us thoroughly enjoyed and it is a difficult feat to please all 5 of us! It was such a convenient and peaceful location. I would highly recommend!

We were really well welcomed and it was a real pleasure to stay at this guesthouse. Our host helped us very nicely sothat we were able to go by tuktuk to the market and do some shopping easyly. Thank you very much.

“Great quiet place just north of the city”

Great location, just off the road making it very peaceful at night. Good air con and fan. Great size room with balcony overlooking the garden and plantation. Good host and Sri Lankan breakfast. They also do laundry, which was a god sent in a city with no laundrettes.

The guest house was in a good location, the staff were helpful and the rooms were good. Our host spoke english fluently so that was great. He's knowledgeable and kind. The breakfast was good.
