“Great authentic stay”

We loved the authentic style of the house, you get to experience the local villagers' lifestyle but with modern facilities. The host was very welcoming, advised where to see the picturesque sunset, and have a nice dinner during ramadan month. We visited the area in February, and at night it was quite chilly and windy, but inside the house there are ACs which both work for cooling and for heating, and there were additional blankets and electric heaters. There was also a funny board game Golden Camel, we enjoyed it. There were 3 bedrooms: 1 with double bed sleeping arrangement 1 with 2 single bed sleeping arrangement 1 with a double bed sleeping arrangement and 1 bunk bed, so that it fits 4 people in 1 room There are 2 bathrooms with toilets and showers and hot water boiler And there is also a cozy yard for bbq gathering

I regret that we didn't manage to get there before sunset. Beautiful surroundings.

Cosy place. Very cute with all the comfort of a traditional old house. It was a bit cold inside but that's why it's charming :-) The location, the decoration and the easy communication with the owner makes it one of our best places where to stay in Oman

Nice place, local typical house, great host, quite place, fantastic location with restaurants in short walking distance, rose museum nearby and tourist track passing around the house. Thanks for the stay, will come again.

Unique concept . Location

DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!! We (4 adult family members) stayed at Roses House for two nights and we enjoyed the authentic traditional style the house was refurbished in - whilst maintaining the modern facilities and functioning. It was a sincere retreat that made our modern brains relax and function in a lower gear. The scenery is stunning with several hiking opportunities and the small town in which Roses House is located, like Roses House, has begun restoration with great consideration for the traditional building style. The 'village' is away from the larger and more modern hotels….. TO THE HOST: thank you for giving us the opportunity to get this fantastic experience............ We vil certainly come back again

“Amazing old, tiny house of stones - great atmoshere, perfect place! <3”

We had an amazing staying. The location was perfect, providing wonderful view from nearby. The owner was incredibly helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The service exceeded our expectations. The house itself was unique, with a beautiful traditional touch that added a special charm to our stay. Every room was maintained, reflecting the owner's care and attention to detail. We felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable trip.

“Beautiful Omani home”

This was a really nice experience getting to stay in a traditional Omani home. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the beds (mattresses on the floor) were super comfortable. There was also heating, which was necessary for the cold nights! Overall a great experience.

The place is amazingly set as traditional old Omani house. My family really enjoyed their stay. The area is very quite and cool. We stayed only for a night. I would definitely come back in the near future for a longer stay.

Rose’s House has a wonderful location, in one of the three villages clustered around the hanging terraces of Saiq, on top of Jabar Al Akhdar. The house itself is built into the raw rock of the mountain, and is an authentic village house — beds on floor, seating (mostly) cushions on floor, etc. There is a museum showing traditional village life a short distance away, but we didn’t feel the need to visit it because we were staying in just such a house. It felt like a labour of love, with its detail and decor. It’s also at the trailhead for the unique hike through the terrace gardens. It’s an experience! Get used to day-trippers photographing the house you are staying in!

“Super cool and authentic, but lower your expectations”

The place is very authentic and the location is perfect. It’s kinda unique experience. However, this place scored 9.1 only because of authenticity and doesn’t deserve this high score based on the common rational factors of quality and comfort.
