Overview
Located just a 3-minute walk from sacred Izumo Taisha Shrine, Masuya Ryokan is historic accommodation with chic Japanese-style rooms and hot spring baths. Free luggage storage and in-room Wi-Fi are provided. With a relaxing ambience, rooms boast large windows looking out to the Japanese garden. They are fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding. A TV and an electric kettle are provided, and a bath tub and toiletries are included in the en suite bathroom. Ryokan Masuya provides spacious hot spring bath for guests to soak in. Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo is a 5-minute walk away, and Izumo-taisha-mae Train Station is a 10-minute walk from the property. Traditional Japanese multi-course dinner is served to guests who book with a dinner-inclusive plan. The dinner can be enjoyed in the guest room with attentive Nakai (personal attendant) service. Japanese breakfast is offered in the dining room.

Such a nice place. Typical Japanese ryokan-feel but with a big bed (no futon). Huge room, table and chairs, with window to the wonderful garden. Separate hot bath also available.

“Lovely place!”
The room was amazing, and the staff were all super friendly despite the language barrier. There's a fridge and A/C in the room, and a yukata for sleeping as well. The bed is big and comfy. It's less than 5min from Izumo Taisha and in a lovely location in general, but quite far from the train station.

Very comfortable newly refurbished room. Short walk to Izumo Taisha shrine. Food very good. Nice little Onsen. Staff helpful.
