“Romantic Izamal - The Yellow Village - and the Izamal Plaza Are Worth Including In Your Travel Plans”

Super nice staff/owners, location and comfort. Opposite the town square and convent. Walking distance to everything. Two blocks from the archeological site. We arrived on the Maya Train from Merida. There is a shuttle bus waiting outside the Maya Train station but if you are two or more and have luggage, it will be better to take a taxi (120 Pesos) as the bus takes you to the bus station and, unless you have a hotel near the main square, like the Plaza Izamal, the cobble stones make it uncomfortable to tag along your luggage. Izamal and a night at the Izamal Plaza are worth to include in your Maya Train schedule. We've read elsewhere that it's not worth making a stop in Izamal. This 'sleepy' yellow village (Pueblo Amarillo) is very different and definitely worth a stopover.

This was our second stay at the Izamal Plaza. We had a beautiful, comfortable room, enjoyed the rooftop sitting area and appreciated the secure parking. The location is perfect for walking to shops, restaurants and exploring the Yellow City,

Huge room in a lovely hotel right on the main square. The roof top and terrace spaces were wonderful to relax while having a great view of the convent. Super friendly and helpful staff and very clean space.

The hotel is in a perfect location right on the main square in Izamal. It was a little hard to find, but once inside, it's a magnificent old colonial style building with a small number of huge bedrooms with decorations which are totally in keeping with the building. There is a decent sized swimming pool, and a huge roof terrace with tables and chairs with great views of the square and convent.

Locational and staff were very nice

It was very nice, but don’t stay in room number 1. It is very noisy. They moved me to another room and it was much nicer.

The location is right in the centre and walking distance to everything. The rooms are really big and it is clean. Staff are friendly and took out bags up the stairs to our room. Coffee and hot and cold water available 24 hours. Lovely terrace area on roof. Highly recommend

It is in the heart of the city, just a few minutes walk to all of the attractions. You do not need more than a night stay here to see the whole city.
