“Beautiful villa with pool -health hazard lies beneath!”

Unfortunately, the property is dangerous: guest safety is not their paramount concern. Within days of our arrival the bedroom door (which is a floor to ceiling sliding door that has clearly been re-drilled and repaired a number of times -as can be seen by the multiple holes in the ceiling) fell narrowly missing my friend’s son. The reaction of the host was ‘what have you done?’ as opposed to concern for us and our safety. A few days later, whilst no one was even using it, the glass from the microwave, which is built-in above head height fell to the floor and shattered all over the kitchen. This marginally missed my friend, who was cooking dinner at the time. Again it was obvious that repairs had previously been attempted: remnants of double-sided sticky tape remained in situ. Then we have the pool or should I say pond: a carpet of algae lurks below the seemingly clear water causing the appearance of fish food when disturbed by swimming. Obviously, we reported our concerns and requested that it be cleaned first thing the following day. Far from being a simple process, we were forced to contact them again three days later as it still hadn’t happened. When they did clean it, they failed to remove the algae from the bottom; this was still stirred up when swimming. Yet again, we contacted them requesting that it be cleaned the following day, while we were out all day. Upon returning at 6pm, it was apparent that they had only just arrived and we had to wait until 19:30 to use the pool. In addition, the fridge-freezer has a broken cool box door that often falls when the fridge is opened. As this is also well above head height, it is a hazard that could cause injury. There is also mould in the twin bedroom, the shower on the top floor floods when used, the blinds in the master bedroom are broken so cannot be opened and the trim on the wardrobe in the twin bedroom is hanging off.

Our family with four kids truly enjoyed the spacious and cozy villa with several balconies and bathrooms and the superb kitchen, well-functioning wi-fi and AC in great condition. The house was very clean and the surroundings have a friendly atmosphere. The pool was great and we spent a lot of time there since it is clearly big enough for that. There was also room for the car in a protected place in the shade.
